Actually it's the 1st & 2nd season of Round the Twist are based of Paul Jennings' short stories and actually started in 1990, not 1989. The reason for the 8 year time gap is Jennings left after Season 2's production was finished and he did his short story adaptations in other shows like Driven Crazy, Wicked, Deadly & Wormwood.
