This pool was a nice surprise to find while hiking in the middle of our drought here in Arizona. It led to some of my best ever mountain lion trail camera footage and by far the coolest bear video I've gotten so far. This pool is mostly hidden by the grass and steep terrain around it, which is good for trying to get footage of wildlife. Drop a comment below if you enjoyed the video and tell me which Arizona wildlife you'd like to see more of. Thanks for watching.

Fun facts:
Waterholes are classic ambush sites for predators. Look how nervous the deer is at 08:55.

Skunks will stomp to warn other animals they're about to be sprayed if they don't back off. That's what the skunk is doing at 09:40.

Listen closely at 12:54. The younger mountain lion lets out a little purr.

Species shown: Mountain Lion, Turkey Vulture, Black Bear, Coues Deer, Hog-nosed Skunk, Ring-tailed Cat, Mexican Jay, Gray Fox, Blue Grosbeak, and some sort of bat (please tell me if you know the species).

Trail Camera used: Browning Recon Force Advantage

It is so peaceful and makes me think about how meaningful life is actually. Just being able to be alive and be conscious about it is such a gift.
  • Deer takes a drink and thinks “ damn this tastes like a bear’s ass “

The bear having a bath decompressing from a hard day is everything lol

Love how the mountain lion just walks up and starts drinking without looking around. It knows it has nothing to be afraid of.

The appearance of the second cougar in frame was magical.
  • I didn't think I'd be seeing a bear having a bath today, that really made my day. :-)
  • It's interesting how some animals are smart enough to recognize something different in their environment while others do not. The bear didn't surprise me...that the skunk sure did! Smart little guy.

everyone else: quenches thirst politely by taking in small sips of water bears: sigh, my jacuzzi is ready at last!

That's quite a diversity of wildlife and shows how valuable water is to all the different species when it's scarce and how they're forced to share it
  • The mountain lion is nothing but muscle . What a beautiful face . A truly magnificently made animal .
  • A great combination, and also displaying how stressful it must be to be alert 24/ 7 all your life
  • The skunk was my favorite. I love how he charged the camera like he was going to spray. I'm surprised he didn't spray it! What a great camera location. I love all the animals!

I love how mama bear is like "I just need a spa day" but her kid keeps bugging her. He's so curious and intrigued by everything, since he's new to the world everything he sees is something brand new and exciting. I love nature and all of creation. Please keep these magnificent creatures of the wild safe.

That first bear was like “ugghh what a grueling day” 😂🐻. It’s so amazing how this small little pond can provide hydration & relaxation to a diverse range of animals!

Omg, that bear cub was so cute. These temperature readings😳. It's amazing to see how a tiny pond can sustain such biodiversity in a harsh climate and landscape. Thank you!

I had to laugh at the little bear with it’s mama, she just needed a spa day and little bear wanted an adventure. The mountain lions were amazing, though, that kind of footage is priceless.
  • Love how the skunk charged the camera! Thank you, this is pure joy seeing this.

The next time you consider taking a drink from a mountain pool, remember it’s also a bear bathhouse
