I met them at the Square pegs rap party back in the day as a friend of mine from university was lucky enough that his mother worked on the show.I remember saying wow you are Devo .They said no we are not.I then asked who are you. They then told me and I always remembered it.I then ran into them in a bar here in Whistler in 2010.My friend was the bar tender and when I came in she said hey come meet Devo.I said hi but you are not Devo but I know who you are. They said are sure we are Devo and i replied will you buy me a shot if I know exactly who you are .They said go ahead.Without missing a beat I told them what they had told me years ago that they are really 5 spud boys hovering above life's highway searching for bin sweet bin. They asked if I knew them from school and I said no we met at the square pegs rap party and they explained they were never meant to be a band just a school project and said that's who they really are not a band.Bartender gave us free shots all around.

I am legitimately stunned of the concept of Devo playing the Olympics. I can only imagine the process of them being offered the gig.

In 2021 I realized/decided Devo is one of THE best rock bands, ever. True hitmakers. Just happens to be a unique style. They get me howling.

It’s 2023 and I’ve just found this. So many memories of my teenage years. No one was as innovative as DEVO. Brilliant!

This concert is nothing short of amazing!! DEVO for rock-and-roll Hall Of Fame. Vote now!
  • Freedom of Choice is still as politcally relevant today as it was in the 1980s.

Audience is not prepared for Devo. Minds were blown that night. Audience was expecting Miley Cyrus, but got blasted with Devo.
  • They gave us something that no one else ever could or ever will, this is a once-in-a-lifetime thing, its performance art, and it takes huge balls and risk.
  • @leokimvideo
It's always a Beautiful World with Devo playing
  • @hubbsllc
Devo asks a lot of its drummers. Josh Freese definitely bringing it.

Funny. In 1978 kids mocked me at school for listening to DEVO.
  • @paulcrosslin
This is one of the best Devo performances I have ever witnessed and heard.

I saw Devo at the Amphitheater in Hollywood in the early 80s . Entered the crowd coming down a knotted rope while "We are Devo " was playing at the start and ran down the aisle to the stage. Will never forget.

"uncontrollable urge" on 'urgh: a music war" is still my all time fav performance. Gary human was insane

I cant believe they played Smart Patrol/Mr. DNA at the freaking Olympics!!! This was just a killer concert, I almost skipped watching this because I thought there was no way Devo is still that good, this is one of the best live videos Ive seen of them!

Love watching this now and again. Watching Bob belt it out. Got to see them live 3 times in Toronto after this. RIP BOB
  • Mark's voice is really in good form after all these years. Great show.
  • I've said it before here, but this is rock brilliance. There is an unbelievable amount of musical tightness. When they venture into a funk beat, they just rip it up. The very next second, it's classic R&B and then, they end it on a banging rock vibe. And, this is live...
