If a young person wants to work in power generation there are some great videos here to help you under basic operations. There are usually jobs available in various parts of the country. You can be a plant operator, a control room operator, a welder/ mechanic, electrician or in instrumentation. Some times a lot of hard work but you usually have time to learn more in your field. The opportunity is there. Go to technical colleges, get degrees or some where you can get a certificate of course completion and go for it. You will never get there if you don’t put in the effort. Mike Rowe works with organizations to do just this. I believe that with manufacturing jobs coming back from over seas markets there will be an increased demand for good, well trained people. It’s up to YOU. Take advantage while you are young because it gets harder as you get older. Good Luck and God Bless👍🇺🇸🤙😃🙏
  • Learnt more than my whole "Power Plant Engineering" course. Thanks a bunch!
  • This is the best expanation of how things work in a boiler, and I've seen so far, and I've seen like ten... great job.

This is a gem of an explanation for any1 who is studying plant engineering first time as it incorporates practical aspects of it something which often lacks in classroom...

This video is actually just one segment from a larger training video. And that video is part of a larger series of about 12 industrial training videos, all on steam boilers. The paper mill I used to work at had the whole series as required viewing for training in the utilities department. Good videos, I wish I could have digitized copies to keep.
  • The best explanation I had appreciated amongst all boiler basics! The videos were superb!

I wish this guy was my lecturer.... This would've been 10x easier

Only missed using the term Generator tubes, the small O.D. numerous bank of tubes running from Steam Drum To Mud Drum which helps maintain correct levels of water in the Stem Drum and is plays a major role in early steam generation as well as the screen tubes, pulling double duty as the fire screen for the Superheater and having support clips to hold the rows of SH tubes in place while allowing for thermal expansion. There are also internals in the upper drum which direct steam to cyclone seperators to rid the steam of excess moisture before entering the superheater.
