I am an 61 years female, Rodney is the best bass player in this generation of music that I've heard. Especially on Smokie Norful dvd, Bless the Lord. I listen just to hear Rodney play. Off the Chain!!
-
great tone. never heard anyone play that close to Marcus. great stuff Mr. Jones
-
That is some spectacular playing and tone. He's a bad mofo on bass. The entire band rocked it.
-
I've watched this young play since he was 14 and he is THE TRUTH!! CHICAGO STAND UP!! Just plain ANOINTED BY GOD!!
-
AIN'T NOTHING LIKE REAL MUSICIANS, BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Way to go Cousin, you're an awesome musician, it runs in the Family
-
The drummers pocket is so bad, it's like his creating a pocket while in the pocket!!!! AWESOME!!!!!
-
My favorite and I'm 70 yrs old the man is bad!!!
-
I played sax on this hit... Yeah there's a track, but there's no bass on it. He recorded the track at his studio to fill out the horn lines and add some synth color in the mid section. Bass is all Rodney, trust me. He's that badass.

Rodney Jones Jr. is a Bad Man! Love it, Do yo thang man! Bass Player myself....Austin Tx.

I went past this vid several times before I finally watched it ..ohh so glad I did. this cat is STANK FACE FUNKY, I could hardly stay still in my seat watching this. Great tone as well ,and of course the drummer was holding a sweet pocket the whole time . ย I will be looking for more great music from sir RODNEY and company.

Amazing Talent and for the Nay Sayers were all standing on the shoulders of Someone Else's Talent and Music Evolution..
-
Just OUTSTANDING, I'm so motivated to get back start playing again thank you Rodney
-
Marcus canโt hear him if heโs dead, respect the living while they live. Great job bro. He will love it
-
No the drummer could not have gone harder. The drummer was doing exactly what he was supposed to do, which was stay in the pocket and accompany the bass player. That's how you get called back for a gig
-
I love this

I am 58 years young and i agree with you totally, the work he has done with smokie norful is where i first took notice and even though we don't each other personally, i am very proud of this man and his family. It's obvious there is a strong anointing on the Jones' to the point that when i see a project old or new where Rodney played bass i automatically buy it. On this particular video, Marcus Miller should be very proud of him as well!
-
I rather listen to this version than the original there so much groove and make me want to dance .
-
Outstanding family!!!! Miller would be proud.. way to represent.
