I think you’ll really enjoy Art of Dying when you get around to it. Definitely my favorite Gojira song.

I think flying whales is the one for you jim

I read a comment on a Gojira video that sums them up perfectly. It essentially said that Gojira is like wine. The first time you try it, it tastes bitter, but there's enough of a hook to make you try it again. Before you know it you are a full on connoisseur. Just like you, it was the vocals that initially put me off, but I persevered, and I have been richly rewarded for sticking with them. I am now a fully fledged member of the cult of Gojira.

I would recommend Esoteric Surgery and Vacuity from that album, but also Flying Whales, Silvera and Stranded are great.

The end blends in toxic garbage island, the next (great) track. That whole album is amazing

Gojira - L’enfant Sauvage is an amazing, very stylish and catchy track of theirs.

Try Flying Whales next, Jim!! Joe Duplantier has a really good vocal style for easing into the heavier stuff. It's introductory but also heavy enough to be loved by metal enthusiasts. Mario Duplantier is one of the most amazing metal drummers out there and i'm happy you can pick out his rhythms. Good stuff!

I really believe Gojira is the kind of band that focuses on making good ALBUMS. The songs are good individually, but take on a whole other level when you listen to the album front to back. That's why I really love Global Warming. It's the perfect ending track for that album, but I can really see why it's the totally wrong song to get into Gojira with.
  • Pronounced Gojeera :) If you want more, then Gojira - Art Of Dying is an obligatory song to check out! Just consider the immensity of the Gojira, Opeth and Devin Townsend lineup at Red Rocks btw <3

You have your very own screaming baby these days so harsh metal vocals somehow seem more pleasing on the ear now......

You. Get. It. How absolutely beautiful to watch your eyes being opened to the incredible perfectness that Gojira is. So happy for you Jim, truly. Welcome to the world of Gojira fanatics! They are in my opinion the best band out there, period.😊

Oroborus is the one that got me hooked on Gojira. Glad you enjoyed it and always love watching your reactions mr. Jim.

Go-jeera. 🤘 Like lichens, they grow on you eventually. 😉

Nice song choice to turn around your thoughts on Gojira. They are an amazing band. Jim, after getting a better understanding of what it is that you like (very similar to my own tastes)...The next time you try Gojira, I think you would really like the song "Flying Whales". I really enjoy your channel...God bless!

Gojiraaaaa! They are a band who require a certain... Disposition? Your ears are now trained and adapted enough to enjoy them. I think you would love 'Gift of Guilt', 'Flying Whales', Gojira is definitely a rabbit hole you should definitely go down!
  • @camillebrenes
Jim, may I be so bold as to suggest you give Born in Winter a try? You'll see a different side of the band. Even if you don't react to it, it's amazing.
