  • This show kept me going during the unprecedented times of enormous uncertainty... everyday I had a medical-based answer or an I don't know. The medical-based answers gave me hope that slowly we are able to unlock the virus. The "We don't know yet" answers warned me to stay vigilant. I will miss this show. It is a strange feeling - I really want to move on from the bad memories of the lockdowns but this show wrapping up is bittersweet. Thank you DW for your community service - globally. Thank you to the researchers and all the staff who painstakingly created the daily content. Thank you to Derek for being the calm within the storm , the face of this segment. His BTS videos were adorable! Who knew he had those filming struggles at all!

Thank you so much. I’m a physician in the USA and began watching DW regularly during the pandemic. I came to trust DW to provide accurate information on what was happening elsewhere in the world.

Thank you for providing this show and putting it on YouTube. I don’t know how many episodes I’ve missed but probably not many. I’ve greatly enjoyed this series and the quality of information in it. And as an English speaking American, I really appreciate a German company making this show in my language.

Thank YOU to the team at DW News for this coverage the past (almost) 3 years! You guys have been my source of updates and informations regarding the pandemic from all over the world. I especially enjoy the coverage from Africa and Europe. When the coverage started I thought to myself I look forward to the last episode of the coverage, as it means the pandemic has come to an end. But now looking back it's truly been a bittersweet journey for all of us. Danke Schon once again!

Thanks for the coverage! In a way, this is another mark of closure for me who has watched many of these specials over the last 3 years.
  • Thank you DW for helping us navigate along the dark path that is Covid-19 pandemic.

Vielen Danke - Thanks a lot for this show. I have seen many many of them. I am kind of sad to see them stop, both for the informative science and global news, but also for the steadfast support, the continuency through these last years. And Covid is not done with us yet. I actually think that this show were my main reason for checking DW out, since they were so good (not to mention very international) I had to see what else DW had to offer. So thanks for now, many good wishes from Copenhagen
  • @fafdus
not being able to see someone before they die but being able to talk to them on a video call is 10 million times better than if that person died suddenly in an accident was murdered or...

Derrick is the nicest person I've ever seen on DW. Hope to see him more in other shows. I started watching DW during pandemic. Was so worried about Bergamo that time. I visited this city couple times before pandemic, such a nice place.
  • I'm full of admiration for the effort and dedication of the DW teams involved in these programs. Special thanks to Derrick Williams for his engaging and thorough presentations on so many aspects of the pandemic over these three years. Best wishes from a grateful US viewer!
  • You have kept me sane through COVID and all the hysteria and misinformation. I am sad to see you go and hope you can have a special again at some point! Thank you DW and to Derek for his thoughtful answers and explanations. You are truly a great channel.
  • @chudson5901
wow. Thank you so much for such an informative documentary. Hope this will help people remember this years later.
  • @dyamato1990
Thank you DW to keeping us informed, and Derrick thank you for answering my question.
  • @ccreasman
I discovered DW BECAUSE of your reporting. I live in the US, and wanted a broader viewpoint. I started watching the news from other countries, and DW was a standout. Loved Derrick’s explanations and Q&A sessions; really helped me understand better things going on.

As someone who worked on Animal Outbreaks for many years, we did not take enough prevention measures at the start to protect ourselves, tough measures are needed to slow the spread you cannot stop it spreading but you can slow it, which means more time to put further necessary measures into place, i would have closed all flights to prevent spread at the start.
  • @MintSirada
Thank you thank you thank you all the team members who work hard to produce this COVID-19 Special show. I am all the way from Thailand but because of this show I began to follow DW news. Thank you for working hard to provide us with scientific information during the time of chaos.
  • DW news should be applauded for its indepth reporting on the Covid pandemic. I do think that it may be premature for society to consider that it is over.... It quite the opposite. We have learned alot about the virus and our public health response and there still much to learn! Again, many thanks!
  • @dediosp16
