Former Dallas Morning News reporter Lee Hancock, who covered the Branch Davidian Siege in Waco in 1993, sat down to interview an ATF agent who was on the site of the compound on February 28, 1993. She began her interview by asking him to talk about what it was like the morning of the raid.

    As a 20 year law enforcement officer I don’t understand why they just didn’t pick David up out in public when they were following him around town? David would jog for miles up and down the road right past the ATF surveillance

    They absolutely carried assault rifles. They wanted to raid the compound guns firing everywhere, and expected that some Branch Davidian’s to become casualties. Sickening.

    I don't remember much about the Waco incident, but I find this agent's assertion that the ATF , engaging in a large scale tactical assault, did not carry automatic weapons to be both incredulous and insulting. Using his narrative, you'd think the ATF showed up simply to give the Dividians hugs and fatherly advice.

    Bullets coming through the door from the inside? Surely you must be educated enough to know that they're not going imagine shooting through their own door to hit you right? Specially if the bullets were comin from outside, which they were. This guy is full of BS.

    At least in all the research I have done they never found a .50 cal weapon in the compound after the fire...so...how did the davidians shoot one at them?

    This guy stated they wrote their blood types on their necks. (This way if an agent was shot and was losing blood fast, they knew what blood type he would need ASAP) Obviously they were going in there knowing they were going to have a gun fight.They knew their plan. He told on himself right then and there. Common sense...
