In 1985, When I realy needed one, I could afford a VW bus on my salary. New it was around 60% of my year salary. Now, with a new price of $85.000 it is around 40% OVER my year salary. So, the price increased way beyond inflation and probably not many can afford that.

It's nice to see someone finally explain that 2nd row window. My only gripe is the headlights. VW really should have made them more rounded, even if it was just the bottom.

Could you please, always, include measurements in metric units :)
  • @Vormulac1
I wonder if they'll do a camper version of this like the original?

My dad had a Combi 69 one and I have so many memories in it. roadtrips , camping, beach days. I want to be able to show my kids those memories in this new id buzz. cant wait :) Great video <3

Nice.... But at 4:36 on the issue of loading height, it is actually possible to load from the floor level. That rear rack is removable and the third row folded away to get floor level loading height. But that rack was put to enable camping ie to be able to put a mattress over the folded back seats.

For how rushed you clearly were that was a really excellent overview and very well produced

Ok ok, but… I owned a 64, and a 69 VW bus, and loved them both. I tricked them out as camper’s. What I would love to see is this long version,300+ mile range, front seats only on delivery, and be able to trick it out as a camper. Ether that or have a Westfalea (probably didn’t spell that right) setup factory built. Just sayin, now that would be a dream VeeDub for me. I regret selling my old bus’s, and would sell my first born to electrify one now. I loved those bus’s (did I say this already?). If Volkswagen is smart (which I don’t think they are) would capitalize on the nostalgia of the VW bus, more than just a resemblance.

It could use a little more character from the past in the design. I'd like to see the vintage design of the round headlights and turn signals used on this reboot. I know that a Safari split windshield is too much to ask, but that would be really cool. As far as new innovation goes, thin film PV cells in the panoramic sunroof would be a great feature that would serve as a means to help charge the battery.

I've never seen anyone so excited for features that have been in every minivan for decades 😂
  • @smefour
Kinda reminds me of the KIA Grand Carnival from 2012 (that was even bigger inside), such great vehicle designs, so practical
  • @snowstrobe
Nice to have 10 inches... Glad to hear they're possibly fixed the software issues.

My parents had a VW campervan and a Bug when I was a kid, c. 1968-1973. I would love to see one of these kitted out campervan style! (Bonus points for including a folding/telescoping rooftop solar array, if that's even possible along with a pop-up camper.)

It's undoubtedly a lovely design. Having sat in one it reminds me of two things. 1. It is indeed reminiscent of the VW Transporters and Combis that I have driven over the years, specially the Type 1, 2 and 3 [including 2.5]. 2. That ID Series dash. I quite like the layout in my ID3, so it's a real pity the software is so incredibly crappy on mine. I understand the new software is getting somewhere decent. Just don't sit in a Tesla and interact with that. I have done that too. That's great software. i have heard criticisms of the extended front end. I don't get it. VW had to introduce proper head-on crash protection. The front occupants knees, with or without a massive spare wheel hanging off the front, simply will not do these days. When there's a Camper version I'll sell the house and buy one. Or a European Cybertruck. 😋

Great enthusiasm, I can see why, this has potential to be a great car, I'd be keen on a 4x4 camper for Aussie
  • @TheGerm24
I have a Pacifica PHEV minivan. This seems like a nice replacement if I want to go full EV in the future.
  • @jamesdotson3965
I like minivans too. They’ve been around for a while, just maybe not as much lately. Is this really anything more revolutionary than that?
  • @dwarmour
you did exactly what I have been needing to see. laying in the back. Idk about everyone else, but I like vans because I camp in them and put my bike in it! How is the floor if all the seats were removed. is It all flat or slope?
  • Fully Charged has been with the Buzz for a long time, remember when Jonny Smith drove the "one-of-a-kind" development model? I hope that they are really very popular in the USA.
  • @mrm7058
Good looking van, I like it. The only thing that bothers me is that the seats are not as flexible as in the T7 Multivan. If they can change it in a later revision, it would be great.
