If you think about it, this whole 4.8 quest has been a big minecraft reference. We got spawned in a random location in a random world. And we had to go through all this quest to get to the "end" of the world. And we had to go through a portal to get to the "end" of the world. And there we had to fight a blocky dragon, which is the ender dragon. And meanwhile in this world, most things look like blocks and those toy people are also blocky. And nilou's magic is basically a crafting table. There are definitely way more references that i as a minecraft noob did not understand

Seeing the summer event items from the past 3 years brings back many memories.

the secret room hit me so hard :face-purple-crying: i love all the summer patches
  • @trikster6748
Devs must really love Yu-Gi-Oh. There's also The Godfather reference with origami hamsters as the boss
  • @dz1rkys
The Stanley Parable reference absolutely killed me when I first noticed it
  • @anzu4870
It's funny that almost no one noticed "Singin' in the rain" reference. I thought i was the only one who noticed that
  • @BirdCraftSSB
You missed a Mario Odyssey reference where in the metropole there’s a guy sitting on a bench and if you sit next to him he’ll say you’re not from around here and a chest is unlocked
  • @SofiaXY
one more that was missed out. Slimes and fungi that reference the main characters of this update.
  • @Elti979
The first reference I came across/noticed was the skyrim one and I was a little shocked but then I came across the aot one and I lost it. Dropped my controller and headphones due to how shocked I was because I didn't expect it.
  • While the stairs one possibly being Yugioh Abridged is really funny, I think that it might actually be a reference to the one scene from Howl's Moving Castle where they're walking up the stairs

There is possibly one more reference, that being a house with a big toy soldier sitting at the door in the Broken Sea part of the map. The house actually is the same as in "The Real Annapausis" in Fontaine (as in 1:1 model), and to get out you need to find flowers to blow up wind while in "The Real Annapausis", after completing the quest, dandelion appear at the fence entrance, so both have wind related flowers too

Hi CatWithBlueHat, Can you please do a video explaining the "spoilers" . . . The Hexenzirkel, the ending, meeting with Hat guy & Albedo, and that weird AF Sumeru quest.
  • Loved the Secret Room and Forrest Grump references. I feel so old now that I Played his Quest.
  • @firestar6
Red light green light isn't a squid game reference, it's just a game ppl play. This is like ppl who hear "Can You feel My Heart" and say it's a reference to Giga Chad when it's just a song by "Bring Me The Horizon" In fact half of the "references" in the event aren't necessarily references they're just things/events. I know I'm complaining about the smallest things but still
  • @baz7160
The narrator one made me thought of slay the princess but the stanley parable works too
  • @hermdude
Surprised you didn’t bring up the Disney reference when Barbaloth’s statue started turning. But I suppose that’s super obvious. Also, one could say that the Astral Express itself is a reference to the Galaxy Express 999. The train took you ‘on a journey to the stars’ after all.
  • @ensigur
i caught most of these, my favorites being the stanley parable and forrest gump references, buts it’s so cool to see there’s even more that i missed
