Coastal Ghost Town With A New Life | Destination Adventure

Published 2022-10-15
Osland is a small "town" that I discovered last year, completely on accident. I was out fishing and exploring and I stumbled upon this island, with a boardwalk and a bunch of very old buildings. After releasing that video, I got so many comments and messages from folks, telling me what this place actually is. It is remote, it is off grid, it is hard to access, it is practically unknown, and to some it is home away from home. This is Osland, and this is the story of generations. People moved to this country and made this home. Europeans that took massive risks to cross the world and start a new life, and they chose this little island. Sometimes we take our history for granted, but just take a moment and think about that journey. From Iceland to British Columbia. Then they built homes, and boats and families here, in a location almost nobody knows about, in a spot most people cant access.
It was an absolute pleasure getting to revisit this location, and to get the chance to do it with locals, and family members of the original immigrants. These are the stories I really love to tell, because these are the ones that are so easily lost in time.
Great big thank you to the the folks that made this one possible.

Hey Dustin, I'm the owner of the blue cabin at 16:15 and one of your Pateron supporters. Love your work and will invite you to stay over once we're done the renovations!
  • "...no cell service, no internet... just in the cottage with the family... it's great" - the way it should be. Outstanding.
  • Knowing that as a solo YouTuber you have to place cameras to get good vantage points, when I saw your boat going past around 2 and a half minutes into the video, I thought wow, that took a lot of effort. Thanks for your hard work.
  • Dustination Adventure has done it again! Thanks Dustin, from one creator to another thank you for your great Canadian content!!!🍁🍁🍁
  • Whoever owns that cabin should give it to you so we can see what an adventure it would be to really do a doable fix up. Just dreamin" but what fun that would be. If we didn't know this was an edited video, it would cause us mama bears to worry.
  • I'm so glad I stumbled upon your channel. I'm from Ukraine and your videos are like a little trip to a magical corner of peace and beauty for me now. Very beautiful nature and good music create a wonderful atmosphere.Thank you for your videos 🤗

In addition to your fantastic content, the fact that your "knuckle down" and continue the mission despite weather conditions that would keep most folks inside, is inspirational.

What a great adventure, done by a great guy!!! And you never let a "little" rain spoil your time! I love how you let the locals talk and don't barrage them with questions on camera! That is so well done! Thank you for sharing, thank you for getting wet to show us this adventure! I'm thankful for a successful search and rescue of the drone! Great job Brother!
