W or L? Let me know below. W is subbing to the channel

Ive been racing with a 65" 4k TV 120fps for 2 years and Im happy, one crucial super important thing you need to do, is a "custom resolution", AMD adrenalin software has that option, in my case I made a resolution of 3440 x 1440, aspect ratio of 21/9, this put black bars on the top and botttom, reducing the vertical view just a little (like you say on ACC yo need to see huds) and the tv feels like a giant ultrawide screen.
  • @abuelb
Its a big W. 55" 4K 120fps up close to your face is very immersive. 55" is the perfect size for immersion. Tripple 55" is the ultimate setup.

I have a 65" 4K 120Hz TV in my living room, had it since 2020, and I've repurposed it for my newly-assembled aluminum profile rig. Still waiting to get the seat(a Mitsubishi Eclipse one my friends raved about), but the TV is on a separate stand with wheels that can get way up close to my rig and then wheel right back to its original position in less than a minute. Haven't raced with it so far, but I'll have higher FOV than the 45" 32:9 5210x1440 monitor I was really tempted to get. The superwide was $550, stand was $120. I think I made the right choice, and my 4080 has no problem playing ACC, AC1 or Dirt Rally 2.0 at 4K 120FPS with headroom, so I should be set!
  • Good vid, simracing is about fun, sometimes we forget its not all about numbers and laptimes.
  • @MrBasjunk
For absolute the same reasons as you mentioned I have a 55” with the same FOV as you have. I wanted to have a wide screen monitor but thought “hey!” I already have a “big” screen and I can make the same widescreen view but with extra screen at the top and on the bottom. And it works so well with the immersion 🏎️🏁

Nope no mistake. I've been using a 65" for the last 4 years, but my reasons are different, I need to have the TV around 2 metres from me to avoid eyestrain. So I only get the same FOV as a circa 30" monitor mounted on my rig.

Have 4K120hz 48 inch Oled tv as my main monitor for last two years and yes, use it for simracing as well. Simply love it and think there is no turning back now.
  • Looks very immersive. I use a 46 inch panel, but I got up and did everything I could to get it as close to my rig as possible after watching this because of how cool yours looked. Need to get a VESA stand.
  • @takenxtx
Keeping the resolution at 4K and playing around with DLSS or FSR settings in ACC will give you better image quality than native 1440p

As always, great video! Thank you! As for me, I've been using a 34 in ultra wide for about three years. It's been really fun and emersive. I added IR Tracker as a relatively low cost , and space effective alternative, to triple screens. I was considering buying a new, full size (55in) TV/monitor, for my rig, but decided to try a quest 3 instead. The Quest 3 has been an amazing and positive upgrade, definitely adding to my sense of realism. With some minor aftermarket upgrades, I have improved mask ventilation and added prescription modded lenses. I'm feeling pretty good with this setup. To make the larger TV/ monitor work, I 'll need to modify my rig a bit. But still might be worth it for when VR and my body just aren't getting along.

30€ for a wall mount that is extensible by 410mm which is enough to cover the distance between wall and wheel base Just gotta get your height right from the beginning since it wont be heigh-adjustable
  • @ricardoa1661
nice video ! i play iracing and ATS on a 55" i think it works great on those two tittles mainly because of moving FOV and seating position on screen . i get lost for hours driving and seeing the dials on my truck reacting to inputs. my tv sits about a foot behind my DD base
  • @DiogeneDeSin0pe
Win for TVs, I got a cheap 43" from Walmart, only use it at 60fps, and 1080, but it looks good enough and as no latency issues, so it does the job perfectly in my budget rig.

I went through a similar change from a 21:9 38inch 3840x1600 to 16:9 48 inch 4K LG OLED monitor. Similar findings of increased immersion. I was initially worried the higher screen was just a waste of pixels, but the extra car interior visible now helps to "feel" the car moving around. 138Hz and VRR is enough IMO and the rapid pixel response and OLED blacks are great. I did change away from static overlays etc for burn in reasons and now run a small dash behing the wheel for all the info I need. Overall very happy and wouldnt go back! Keep up the great content.
  • @John514s
I really like how you get so much of the interior as well
  • @lowfastracing
I live in an apartment with only 1 room, so the tv is the ONLY option for me... :) Of course, my 4 years old Samsung QLED's input lag is bad, and it's only 60Hz in 4K, but ACC looks amazing in 4K on a good tv even with game mode on. And if i turn off game mode for another games (adventure, horror, etc.), they look much-much-much better with a QLED TV's size, brightness and colors, than on 99% of the monitors.
  • @lil_lemonade_03
I have my 55” OLED 2 inches away from my wheelbase/cockpit and I have the FOV set and it’s amazing
  • @xplicitb0i
I just received my csl dd. But already have my cockpit. Before watching this video I wasn't sure witch screen size to get. But like you said couldve gone triples, or ultrawide, but like your own logic and thought process I thought it would be best to do a 120hz gaming TV. So tomorrow I'm picking up a qled 120hz 4k TV. This video made me more sure this is the size I truly want!

I went the reverse, from a 55" to a 49" ultra. For some reason, the 55" so close to my face gave me headaches, so I had it further than optimal. The 49" ultra is much more comfortable, I love it. However I agree about the immersion- getting wrapped up in shaving seconds and upgrading tech we forget to enjoy our hobby sometimes. And AC is the best for that, offering any type of cruising or driving you can enjoy (except maybe crazy offroad), with the amount of mods. So forget what the FOV police or sim racing elites tell you, bottom line is have fun. Your setup looks the bomb btw, for a compact.
