  • yeah ok but does the netflix show talk about the book that you made as a kid?
  • this man went from making storytimes on sandwiches to now a full netflix show its insane
  • Listening to this audio, I was able to picture James reading the script trying to flip through pages as quietly as possible. That's a weird thought I had
  • From a teen doing comics to a show on Netflix is insane
  • Pitching a show is super easy, barely an inconvenience
  • As someone who's in the middle of developing a show, I'm so glad I found this, I'm putting so much love and care in my little baby and adore every single thing about it, from the story to the charachters, one of my greatest fears was that I didn't know anything about how the hell I was gonna pitch it and now, thanks to you, thinking about it makes me just a tad less scared, ty James.
  • 17 years old, having ideas to write a screenplay for a TV show. My dream is to go to Netflix and either work/pitch this idea to them, and your advice in this video has really helped show that anyone with the dedication to work hard can accomplish anything. Might come back to this next year to see how well I did idk, depends how well this does.

    EDIT:
So, it's exactly a year later, and I'm posting an update to let people know how things have come along. I'm about 20 months now into writing the novelisation of my ideas, and hopefully it'll be out by the time I do the next update in 2024. I've also nailed down lots of bits and pieces for character development and how the plot for the pitch flows across detailed episode lengths and descriptions. I'm also currently studying Film and Media in university anyway so I can learn valuable tips and tricks for moving ahead in the future, but so far it's not been bad for a year's progress. Thanks for the love and support, and good luck to everyone else who's got other projects too. Don't give up, you will get there with time and patience.
  • The story of how Stephen Hillenburg got Spongebob picked up is so captivating. A marine biologist who turned a little comic strip called the intertidal zone, realized art was his true passion, created an entirely new world from that comic book, and pitched his show in a hawaiian get-up, ukulele, and a conch shell that played the theme song.
  • It’s amazing how this man went from making animations alone in his room, to having his own Netflix show. Truly amazing.
  • The logline is perfect James going form being the oddest kid to the not oddest kid with Max
  • It's pretty crazy knowing that James went from talking about a book to a WHOLE show
  • @angeb2756
This man went from an animator, to a business man
  • 7:50 You just described Big Top Burger, one of my favorite shows (it’s a cartoon btw). It’s sadly only on YouTube and has like 3-4 minute episodes released like twice a year, but man is it good!
  • Once again, Congratulations! It's really inspiring to see all the way you came along!
  • @MrNoob145
Bro went from makin’ comics to having a entire show. He really accomplished a lot of things the past few years
  • Those statues of over the garden wall star vs the forces of evil and avatar are godly underrated 5:10
