I built $40 Haptic Force Feedback gloves for virtual reality. I can now legitimately FEEL what VR feels like and hold objects in my hands. It's the most incredible thing I have ever felt in VR actually. It's amazing. The crazy part is that you can actually build gloves as well! PLus as long as you have a PC of some sort you can use any tracking method whether that be HTC Vive wands, Vive trackers, Knuckles, Oculus Quest's touch controllers, doesn't matter. IT'S SICK. These gloves are made by Lucas VR Tech/ LucidVR and we actually go to his workshop to build a pair! Thank you Lucas!

ALSO if this video gets 15,000 likes, I will build a pair and give it away to a commenter.

This changes everything.

People like this is why VR has been advancing this fast, thanks to everyone who keeps doing so much for the community.

as someone passionate about free and open source software I cannot express how much love i have for Lucas in making these so accessible. Giving the virtual to the people instead of Zuck. A true cyberpunk.
  • "It looks ugly, but I'm so proud of it" My parents when they first saw me. Minus the "proud" part.

This. There's something so... humbling about seeing a wonky invention with a shit ton of wires hanging from it, and knowing that it's just the simple beginnings of something absolutely amazing

This guy 100% deserves much more attention and some sort of crowdfunding. What he's done alone is incredible, I genuinely want to see how he takes it further with support
  • @WhackyCast
This is amazing! Would suck for me as I have quite sweaty hands to begin with haha

I'm a computer engineering student and sometimes i get tired of studying and doing things for months until i see something that inspire and pumps me up again. This is one of those things.

As a soon-to-be 60-year old, You should know that I still get completely geeked out when I see your videos Thrill. I love the tinkerer/innovator aspect of that inventor. To say that the future is bright with young people like you in this world, gives me hope for the future. See you in VR :D

"How do you move around with haptic gloves?" Me: Haptic feet.

“Or… something else” Shows (pretty much) half the reason why people would buy VR/Haptic feedback gear

As an electrical engineering student, this is the kind of crazy innovation that got me into both engineering and VR! So happy to see this project gaining more traction then when I first found it!

YOU MET HIM, ive been following this project since it started
  • @ObsequiousV4
mad props to this guy. Been watching this project for a little while
  • Honestly, it’s crazy to see how far VR has come. From pixely images to actual gloves that can simulate touch. That’s wild, and I would dream of getting my hands on a pair of these.
  • @firedude339
can't wait to do only safe for work things with these gloves
  • @StringCheeze
I can't wait until these get streamlined and more average consumer friendly
