'Make sure you got plenty of stuff in the pantry.' After hearing that, I hit the like button. Thanks for the video
  • Tomatoes in glass jars taste so much better than commercially canned tomatoes! Not even close!

Nice to see the family, a nice bunch you have there. Bless y'all real good.
  • Looks yummy! You need a rack to keep them elevated off the bottom.

When I was young my father and I would run the cornstocks through a chipper then roter till it into the soil chopping up the roots at the same time. That was in the 1960,s. I am 73 years old now.

Oh my look at that corn nice, I wish I was your neighbor very nice garden
  • You can dehydrate the skins and then powder them it is so great if you want a strong tomato taste
  • I also do tomato juice . I have a big juice that I run the tomato's through and a coalator I use with the accss from the juicer and pour it in the juice to thicken the juice. After that use the same process as the tomato's.

To keep pathogens at bay use a little citric acid and keep the PH below 4.6. Botulism won’t grow at those PH levels. You don’t need to cook them so much that all you have is tomato juice. 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon depending on variety of tomatoes.

I grew the Olympian cucumber this year. Lots of fruit and good taste. The little spikes I dont like so much. All in all wonderful variety!
  • I read if you put a tablespoon of butter in the saucepan with the tomatoes it dissolves the scum/foam. Worth a try that way you don’t loose too much of your produce. I did try it when I made marmalade but haven’t tried it with tomatoes. Let me know if you try this how it goes. Thank you ❤️

They look great, I love your video, but need a towel or something in the bottom so the jars isn't touching the bottom. It could cause them to break being that close to the heat. Or that's what every one says to do.
  • Hey y'all! I would love to know where Miss Hoss got her big Blue Pots from 🥰 Love them!! Those tomatoes sure are pretty canned !
  • A little trick I learned I don't know where, no one in my family for 3 generations back has ever grown even a tomato but I cut a small X on the bottom of the tomatoes before dropping them into the hot water and leave them in for a minute or less. This tomato peels easily and remains clean and firm so as not to be such a mess wile Handling and coring them. This also works well if you have family that doesn't like the skin on their tomato in a salad or sandwich. I've had a vegie garden for the last forty of my 68 years. Mike from Maryland P.S. You guys have a great channel
