Bob McKeown deconstructs the interrogation and shocking confession of Russell Williams. From his initial denial to the full declaration of guilt, the fifth estate deciphers one of the most compelling and distressing confessions in Canadian criminal history with the help of people who know the art of interrogation better than anyone else. For many months, the fifth estate has been following the story of Russell Williams and now is able to piece it together from the early clues to the final confession.

Anyone else just watching hours and hours of interrogation videos or just me?
  • @JTCT371
Sometimes I rewatch this simply because of how impressive this detective is.
  • @jadorre
the detective is so calm and smooth it’s amazing

I can’t stop looking at the island on his head.

It all started with “what pretending to be crazy looks like”
  • The fact that the police interrogator to this day has not built upon or monetised this interview for his own personal gain speaks volumes his integrity and professionalism

Shoutout to that witness who called in the SUV. Always stay alert for your neighbours, you never know.
  • When these killers start to cry after confessing or in court, they are mourning their life being over, not the life (or lives) they have taken.

When you watch this kind of clips you understand how small your own problems are.

this interview is taught all over the world.its one of the finest examples of how a confession can be obtained without even raising your voice.absolutely amazing job.he studied Russ before this meeting.he had planned for every eventuality the conversation would take.he maintained full control the whole time.

Interviewer is absolutely awesome. The silences are immense and he plays the game perfectly. Please make sure this man’s interview becomes an art form you can teach.

“It’s sheer evil. We haven’t seen anything like it and we think you havent either” buddy im on hr 5 of my interrogation video binge

"We need you to come to the police station today." "Aight, lemme just grab my murder boots."
  • @paulissus8974
"I can't believe this is happening" he said, while about 99.9% of the population couldn't believe he did what he did.

wow, watched this 3 years ago, still watching the crime confessions but always come back to revist Detective Smith's flawless extraction. See you all again in a few years.
  • While those girls are gone forever, that detective's amazing interrogation skills probably saved the lives of at least one or more other women who he would have murdered.

This dude passed a background check for a Top Security Clearance. Be aware that a lot of people who should be in prison are not in prison.
  • I can only imagine the absolute utter shock this man's wife suffered when this case broke. Poor lady. I was married for 33 years to a man who had many, many secrets I never ever suspected. It's a harsh reality when you learn who they really are, and what they are truly capable of. Changes you and your ability to ever again trust others or even yourself and your own judgment, or even your desire to go on, forever.

Body language readers are always correct....when they make an analysis after knowing the outcome.
