Ken, I totally agree that God is supreme, totally beyond who we are, and is holy. Thank God for that! If I can add another side to that .... as a survivor of very severe abuse, I'd say that learning about His compassion and Fatherly kindness has helped me tremendously in my healing. So for some people who were crushed, defiled, decimated, and treated with great iniquity by fathers, male relatives, or other men, at some points in healing, just having a "safe", loving, tender Father is what we need--and perhaps all we have the capacity to experience at that time. We can finally stop trembling out of terror wondering who is going to come for us next. Now that a great deal of the healing with my father and other men and authority figures is mostly completed (though I'm in tears now as I'm writing this), I have more capacity to look at and take in the awesomeness of God. I want to understand all of Him! But, I've finally grown to feel safe with the Father and trust Him. I know I'm His precious daughter. I'm grateful for that. Thank you for both speaking out truth and doing it with both kindness and compassion. I've listened to many of your talks and am soooo grateful to God for you. May God richly bless you, your wife, and your precious daughter!
