Welcome back to my mini-series, The Scotland Diaries! In this episode, I journey to the enchanting Staffa and Lunga islands in Scotland to witness the adorable Atlantic puffins up close.
In This Episode:
Journey to the Islands: Follow my trip from Oban to Mull, then to Tobermory, where I join the Staffa Tour company for an unforgettable adventure.
Staffa Island: Explore the famous Fingal's Cave, renowned for its natural acoustics and stunning basalt columns.
Lunga Island: Experience the thrill of seeing puffins nesting and preening on this rugged island. I navigate a slippery beach and a steep, muddy slope to reach the puffin colony.
Seabird Spectacle: Visit Harp Rock to see large colonies of seabirds like European Shag, Common Guillemot, Razorbill, Northern Fulmar, and Kittiwakes.
Puffin Antics: Enjoy the charming antics of these Sea Parrots, with their colorful bills and distinctive gait.
Despite the wet and windy weather, it was a wonderful day filled with wildlife and adventure. After drying off, I returned to my cozy cabin to relax with a hot chocolate.

Absolutely charming. "Puffins Galore!!" 💖🤗 The fact that they live in burrows makes them even more lovable. What a wonderful adventure, and as someone else said, even though the rain made the trip a little more tricky, I think it really added to the ambience. As usual, beautifully fimed, narrated, with great tips, and info. I bet you needed that hot chocolate ☕ back at the cosy cabin.
