Dornier have always designed and built weird, quirky stuff. The Do335 is my favourite.

I remeber seeing this beast for the first time at the Dornier Museum. I was just stunned, never saw something like this before. Cant belive we have it in the sim now.
  • I don’t know WHAT they were thinking spending all that time modelling such a strange, innovative and quirky aircraft. What we punters REALLY want is yet another A320, identical to the other 8 A320s on offer except for a slightly weathered flight deck! ITBS though has missed a trick here as this aircraft more than any other deserved an introduction to the Thunderbirds theme. That would have absolutely set the review off perfectly. Great review though, thank you! I’ll be getting this simply for the novelty value!

Hello sir! Great video as always. I have a funny story about this airplane. When I lived in Southern Oregon, I met the test pilot Dornier hired to fly this beast. His name was Drury Wood and he was from the golden age of American test pilots, WW2 Navy vet flying corsairs then post war civilian test pilot. We hit it off as I am a long time aviation guy and chatting further it was evident he was very proud of working for Dornier on this project. I believe he flew it at the Paris and Farnborough air shows around 1969 1970 ish He was in his late 80s when I met him and one day he showed at my work and gave me a bunch of photos and a video dvd all taken during the project. After seeing this AC for the sim I need to dig them out of storage and have a look again at them Small , small world

Looks fun I just wish the suspension wasn’t as stiff as a rock

Nice touch there with the German song. As a German I appreciate this. Weird choice for a local legend but I like Dornier getting some love.

I wished I watched this video before I bought the aircraft, the fact you can't control throttle yourself made me lose all interest in this addon, big shame as I really like the aircraft

Another plane from the past!Instead of some 737-200, 727, 747-200, DC-9...these relics keep coming out! Free or paid...Thank God, there are people who have resurrected these FSX ones, but gentlemen! Finally, could someone develop some "view from the tower like in FS2004 or Fsx?! My opinion!

It's like a B-29 crossed with War Rocket Ajax from Flash Gordon. Great review as ever. Fingers crossed you don't get an engine failure and have to make a dreaded 9-engine landing. I love that msfs has so many bonkers aircraft (even if the quality is variable).
  • @mikebakkeyt
Great review, thanks. Loved the song during the cruise :-)
  • @artswri

This plane is ridiculously beautiful and I had to buy it. It was inexpensive, so just had to add this incredible machine to my rapidly filling hangar. It is an amazing design and the ergonomics/visibility of the cockpit are remarkable. This is one powerful bird!

I absolutely love your videos. They are so immersive. Please keep up the awesome content. PS - would love to see some more flying in South Africa some day. 😊

There's one DO 31 on display near Munich. Been there dozens of times in my childhood. Never imagined i could "fly" one in MCS... simply amazing!
