The praise doesnāt come any loftier when none other than John Lennon says you are his favourite singer and Led Zeppelinās icon, Robert Plant, says you are one of rockās best voices - On Burton Cummings
-
Blood Sweat And Tears is worth a look if you're liking this. "You've Made Me So Very Happy"
-
Burton Cummings' voice is instantly recognizable. Soooo good. This was a hit, but I think 'American Woman' is their best known.
-
You know, all of us "old people" were singing along because we know all the words!
-
āUndunā is another of their songs that is in a similar style to this one. If you want to hear them ROCK listen to āNo Timeā or āAmerican Womanā, or Iāll sue!
-
Burton Cummings has one of the best voices in rock. Just brilliant. o
-
That song was playing on a 8 track in a car the night I met my future wife in 1972! Needless to say it is very emotional for me to hear it. I miss the love of my life!
-
I miss the time when songs had iconic beginnings . That were immediately recognizable.
-
Their best known song is American Woman
-
Burton Cummings voice is so amazing š
-
Such a simple keyboard intro but it's absolutely iconic and wonderful.

I grew up with this great Canadian band. Some of their hits are "American Woman", "Laughing" "No Time", "Undun", "Hand Me Down World", "Share The Land", "Bus Driver", "Star Baby", "Albert Flasher", "Rain Dance" etc. Burton Cummings has one of the best voices out there. Randy Bachman later left to form (BTO) Bachman Turner Overdrive & had many hits. And Burton Cummings had a great solo career with lots of great songs.
-
Burton Cummings is one of the best vocalist of our time. His work after the Guess Who, is great.
-
If you like this song, some early Guess Who hits you might like, are "Laughing" and "Undun". I remember growing up in Manitoba. The whole province beamed with the success of this Winnipeg band.
-
Great reaction, I love to hear these oldies through the eyes AND ears of younger people
-
SMILE. I'm 73. An old Vietnam veteran. I remember these old songs very well.
-
This was a huge hit in the day
-
I'm really happy this was my music growing up ā¤

If you are fellow Canadians then age is no excuse to not know our musical legends from every era. The amazing voice of Burton Cummings with The Guess Who (they headlined Woodstock) or in his solo voice is some of the best our great country has to offer. I was lucky enough to see Burton play during a medal ceremony at the Vancouver Olympics and he still sounded great. Hopefully you know our other legends like Joni Mitchell & Gordon Lightfoot. They may be before my time but music has no age and artists like these will live forever.

As others here have commented, "American Woman" should be your next song by The Guess Who
