Fear Not I Season Six, Episode 5

Published 2024-04-03
What are some things in your day to day life that can pull you toward fear or worry? There are so many reasons or moments throughout the day that can open the door to those emotions.

“Of course you feel that way,” is comforting and validating - in every emotion we experience, including fear and worry. We all experience fear and with the world around us, the things we see or read or experience, it is no wonder we feel anxious. But if God is with us (even in our fear), we can experience peace, right?

In your fear, there are a few questions that can help shift you towards peace, like:
What is my perspective of God?
Do I see God disappointed in my fear or comforting me?
Where am I looking for peace?

When the scripture writers tell us not to be afraid, the reminder is that we need God and that He is there for us. He does not scold us in our fear; He comforts us with truth.

In this conversation, Candace and Jennie talk about fear – moments in their lives when they walked through fear and worry, how media and social media add to the tension, and how fear can shift to peace when your perspective of God changes.

Listener Question:

How does God see you in your fear?
How does your fear change knowing that God is with you and for you?
Fear - peace
God isn’t slapping you on the wrist in your fear.
God is with you, He gives you peace and comfort.
Fear is in the water. It is something we cannot avoid, right? But where are you looking for peace within your fear?

Candace + Jennie answer TWO questions this week:

How Do You Get Rid Of Stage Fright?

I’m a mama to a precious almost two year old daughter and I’d love some wisdom on the line between being wise and cautious vs parenting out of fear. With all the childhood abduction and trauma stories out there it’s so hard to balance faith and fear.

Tune in to hear their encouragement to both questions!

Each season of The Candace Cameron Bure Podcast features one guest for a deep exploration of a single theme, encouraging viewers to grow in their experiences of faith, family and purposeful living.

I have found that speaking out my prayers - anxiety, worries, fears really helps release them. I have no one to have that honest conversation with except our Lord. It really helps. Thanks for this affirmation!

I've been a Christian for 31years. I'm 57 now and, Candace, I am so encouraged and uplifted by you and your hosts. I absolutely love your podcast, the words and wisdom you give to your listeners. I lead a women’s group and struggle with preparing and preparing and then preparing again. I have learned exactly what you were talking about - when in the moments that I remember why and who I am doing it for and it’s not about me and step into trusting Him to work in my “messiness” it is freeing and I have seen lGod move so much within our group. Love ur wisdom Candace and Jenny!

when we read "Fear not' in the Word.. It is not a sin but He is assuring us that in Him we have nothing to fear. Sure we can be concerned and not sure of what might happen but "greater is He that is in you than he who is in the world." ..

This was a great episode. I love the part about going to the end of the fear loop and telling God and others you trust how you feel. 😊❤
  • As a fellow perfectionist, I can 100% relate to having the anxiety of not having time to prepare things before hand. At work a couple of weeks ago I was told in short notice that I needed to speak in front of the group and almost had a panic attack. Luckily due to lack of time during our meeting I didn’t have to. The Lord was kind to me and gave me a pass that day. 😅 😮‍💨😂

The Moses, God, and Aaron story is one of my favorites! And Jennie’s comment that people need to know what we are saying is real spoke to me.

Wow how very informative. I deal with this alot. I much rather be smiling and keep my chin up. There are moments that anxiety and fear can set in. Only because the world is so stressful. Leaning on God and lifting those things up in prayer is a great place to start.

I experienced my worst fear 10½ years ago when I found my mom no longer alive... I sank into a very deep depression for 3 months... and I still sometimes fear going into nursing homes to visit people because I may find someone no longer alive.
  • I’m 10 minutes in and I’m like “Yes Jennie”!! Ladies, this is soooooooo good!!! Thank you so much for taking the time to create and share this ❤
