FUN FACTS: 1. This song was the band's first hit and instantly made them International stars. 2. Dewey Bunnell was the song's lead vocalist, lead guitarist, arranger, and lone writer, 3. Bunnell said, "A Horse with No Name [was] a metaphor for a vehicle to get away from life's confusion into a quiet, peaceful place". 4. Michael Jackson sampled the song in his song, "A Place With No Name". America said they were "honored" that Jackson chose their song. 5. America sued Jackson's sister, Janet, for illegally sampling their song "Daisy Jane" in her song "Let's Wait a While", reportedly settling for a multi-million dollar sum 6. Randy Newman and others criticized the song for glorifying drug use, but Bunneell denied that the song had anything to do with drugs. 7. The song is the band's best selling single although Ventura Highway is the most played on radio.

I have actually been through the Mojave Desert on a pinto gelding the stable called "No Name", because after he was rescued they found he'd never had a name...he was the sweetest beastie, & all he ever wanted was an apple & a big hug!!! 🌟💓🌟
