Sad we have to literally learn to be humans again
  • @aduckow3569
My biggest piece of advice is to start reading. Just start with ten pages a day and see where it will take you.

that alarm should not have scared me as much as it did
  • Yesterday i hit the 14 hour mark. That scared me. So i turned off my phone for an hour. I spent the entire hour feeling lonely and anxious and just itchy to pick it up again. That scared me even more. I'm 16 and being addicted is scary. Social media is like a drug which most of us don't realise. I'm deleting it rn and just gonna see where it goes from here i guess

I'm 20 and I've been doing this detox for the past 2 years It's nice to see that there are other people who are interested in this as well.

I literally deleted social media and started cleaning out my closet and now doing things I have just been holding off. Getting in Gods word & Hoping to go 6+ months more with it

having the phone in gray scale makes real life look so much more vibrant omg

I actually dream of a world where no one's on their phone in a social setting. Imagine how many amazing people we'd meet and convos we'd have

some advice to end ur Phone addiction : don't brought ur phone with u if u don't need it exemple (go to eat ; go on toilet etc) ; don't use it on your bed and your desk if u can
  • @hellosou
I feel so disgusting. I have been bed rotting for so long, I’m so depressed and I can’t even hide it, I am so empty. I feel disgusted that I can’t get out of bed and I just keep scrolling
  • Thank you for this video. I am currently 17 and developed a phone addiction during the pandemic. As the years have gone by I've felt like I've slowly been losing parts of myself, my hobbies, my drive. I only recently realized just how bad a problem it is and became terrified that I had irreversably stunted my brain developement. This video gives me hope. I'm going on this detox and am determined to find myself again.
  • “I don’t think you should quit social media at all” “ we’re trying to take control back our life” got me interested, I loved this perception- a more practical approach
  • @metalc7751
I actually deleted all of the social media apps off my phone after watching your dopamine detox video two days ago. I'd say that so far, I've been more productive and present. I also got my screentime from 12 hours a day down to 2 hours a day, and I've been feeling a lot better. It hasn't been long since I have deleted my social medias, but I definitely feel more motivated. Great video as always.
  • @cyrillius123
Just deleted instagram off my phone. The bible says that when you’re right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off. This was much needed

I had a professor in 2020 who gave us enough extra credit to bump us a letter grade if we would give up all social media for the semester. It was the greatest semester of my college career! I had way better grades, more friends, more calm and peace, more confidence, more self control, I was more active, slept better, and had so much more fun! Now, I’m a mom and deciding to take a break. I don’t want to waste away my time with my 6 month old baby. He deserves a fully present mother who has all those things again. I’ve spent the last 6 months being anxious and stressed over what a total stranger on the internet has to say about all the right and wrong things to do for your baby. It’s done more harm than good! I love everything you had to share! I started my break 3 days ago, and I feel the lows of not getting that dopamine hit all day, but I’m filling my time with more meaningful stuff!

i rearranged my room while listening to this after procrastinating that for YEARS. i think this is the beginning of my detox. thank you!!!
  • @neptunianbabe
As someone with severe ADHD this video helped calm me down a lot. I’m scared to delete YT tbh bc that’s the one thing that my ADHD really gravitates to but it’s got to the point where my entire life I’ve been addicted to my phone and social media and I’m just wanting to actually make something of myself instead of living vicariously through others. Wish me luck! Thank you for this video. 💜

my uncle has never had social media. my mom used to always say it was weird and I genuinely believed her. now that I'm older and chronically online, I admire the fact that he doesn't care what people think and does what's best for him.
  • @ilyalma504
A specific tip for keeping youtube, is only having it on your pc. It’s weirder using yt shorts and feels more productive. You also don’t fall into easily watching videoes instead of tiktoks and so on
