I remember when my little sister was in high school, the Russian Sleep Experiment picture really freaked her out and was giving her nightmares. So I helped her do some digging, reverse image searches and the like to figure out where the photo was from, and what the thing in it actually was. Once we figured out pretty conclusively that it was a Halloween decoration, she felt a lot better and didn't have any more problems with it. I felt like a goddamn hero.

"and his eyes were hyperrealistic!" gets me every time, lol
  • Man, did this video bring up some memories... that spooky Squidward image was the first exposure to Creepypastas I ever had and I absolutely agree with the fact that the suicidemouse video was terrifying back in the day. Looking back, yeah, it’s so clearly fake with those stock screaming sound effects, but 12 year old me sure didn’t know that!

“You somehow lost your left kidney last night,” my doctor told me. “We don’t know how, though. Sorry, Mitch.” - actual line from the eyeless jack creepypasta
  • The fact that Nickelodeon put a Squidward suicide reference in spongebob. It also happened in the same month where Sans got into smash so needless to say, it was a crazy month.

Hey, writer of LIARS & The Expressionless here, those were extremely early in my career and i actually ended up full time doing long form stories for podcasts & tv, thank you for the shoutout & gentle ribbing. Neither story is good at all but it did allow me to improve as a writer! Love the channel so this was a pleasant surprise, all the best!

The scariest image I've ever saw was a painting made by Yuko Tatushima, the girl with the long neck, I got jumpscared by this image at 3am when no one was home lol

It's sad that the most known creepypastas are terrible. There are genuinely some good (or at least decent) creepypastas that gain no traction, while jeff the killer has fangirls lmao.

"Don't look up Harlequin baby" Me knowing how the internet works: oh no
  • @nightzzmixx
The Ben drowned statue's face used to scare the everliving shit outta me.
  • @YMPictures
The image at the end is an old Japanese screamer email, yeah it’s a doll, it would be used in the creepypasta “Gurgles and Bugman” and later famously on a Facebook hoax involving a cult leader who send gore and porn to little kids.

Sometimes I wonder what the HELL the priorities of creepypasta ghosts are, if they decide to haunt games and cartoons first... because that's what i'd gladly do first as a ghost

The smile.jpg version of smile dog nearly made me have a heart attack the first time I saw it. Even worse because I had nightmares about it and the backstory said that anyone that saw the image would dream about it and have to share the image to others lmao.

I once fell asleep in front of the tv with youtube playing, without realizing autoplay was enabled. Woke up at about 3AM with the image of the Rake plastered up there full-screen (52") and nearly shit my pants.

The one show that traumatized me was 1000 ways to die. Just the reality and ways I could die, accidental mostly, just terrified me as a kid. My older brother would sometimes put it on to make me cry because every time I watched it I would invision ways my family could die. Absolutely traumatized me and to this day I can remember the deaths and I can’t bring myself to watch it. Also hi I love watching your videos every night and whenever you upload, great content!!
  • Goose: The Russian Sleep experiment is, one of those stories that everybody has heard of but nobody read. Me, having read the story: ._.

also!! that last image is normally referred to as Ahenobarbus Henocied, and originated on the japanese equivalent of 4chan, 2chan/futaba channel! there’s even a company out there that licensed a phone case with the image on it (which i desperately want). glad you covered it!!
  • @GravyRave
One of the only creepypasta images that still actually unnerve me to this day is the Smile Dog image. I think it's the uncanny nature of a dog with human teeth that disturbs me. And those soul-piercing eyes... Ugh.
  • @yourlocalmeme
"Everyones heard of but no one read" omg i went through a huge Russian sleep experiment phase i loved it i read it many times and I was horrified of the images
