Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this YouTube channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling! So we extended our 1 year trip to now FOUR years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before 2020! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

Dear Kara and Nate I live in Switzerland nearby and done my fair share of hiking in high alpine regions. I have a wish to you: Please set a better example to your 750k subscribers. People die and get seriously hurt each year in the mountains because they behaved exactly like you did. You were badly equiped, have no experience in these conditions on a glacier, obviously far too little experience to plan your route and the time required correctly and left far too many factors to pure luck. I promise you: The mountains can be experienced in an incredible way and you obviously are physically fit enough to do this route. But please take a guide next time you go onto a glacier. It takes experience to do this properly and by risking your own health and life you also risk those who will come for your rescue. Again, please be a better example, respect the mountain and its dangers. Then you can enjoy many adventures also for the next years.
  • Just because you can do this hike alone, doesn't mean you have to do it. I live there and these mountains / glaciers can be dangerous terrain. Each year there are (deadly) accidents and people fall into these crevasses. Most ppl. who go there are either experienced or take a guide (and always have the right equipment).

Guys, I am from Zermatt and an active mountaineer. Even your tour seems easy, you took quite some risk. I strongly recommend you to take a tour guide next time. Weather can change super fast and you lose orientation. A fall in to a crevasse can be deadly. They can be deep, run under the glacier and be filled with water. Easy to drawn. Take care.
  • I love how supportive Nate always is. He never makes her feel bad for struggling with things
  • @ehmmmjay9907
Those giant glaciers with those crevasses in to the abyss triggered some deep rooted phobias I never knew I had.
  • @silentoria
Hiking on glacier is not a game. Be careful. Too many tourist in the mountain. Be safe and enjoy Switzerlans
  • @tonixfay
Nate helping Kara and being encouraging, saying "good work" to Kara is too sweet. Yall are the cutest couple and I love watching you two experiencing the world together. I love you guys! 🖤
  • Everyone is going crazy on you two for this, I’m just glad you made it out alive and say you experienced it.
  • @kathkwilts
Kids, don’t try this at home. Normally, there are guides and ropes and equipment for this sort of glacier crossing. Those crevasses are hundreds of feet deep and the ice is visibly rotted and melting. I’m shocked that they allow people on that glacier in summer... one wrong step and you’re not just injured, you’re gone... no funeral, just a memorial... I’ve been on that glacier but in winter with a guide and ropes and such... I’ve looked into one of those crevasses and they are deeper than you can imagine...
  • @tally1604
Well, I'm glad you were not wearing sandals for the glacier trek ;)
  • @alliegrace
everybody’s concerned about their safety but all i wanna know is how many steps their fitbit counted
  • You're so lucky this ended so well. You were prepared so badly and obviously have no experience in glacier hiking. I'm outraged at the local authorities and the shop owner who let this happen. This is no joke and could've ended so badly. I live in Switzerland and deadly accidents in alpine hiking sadly are a weekly occurrence. This video had all the right ingredients to be the next disaster. Everyone DON'T TRY SUCH A HIKE ON YOUR OWN.
  • This is what its says for people who want to visit the Monte Rosa hut: Mountain guide recommended GLACIER CROSSING
  • @TurnItUpWorld
I think after you hit 100 countries, The next adventure should be discovering the worlds most incredible huts!! 😂
  • @jackfrawley2180
The fact that they got footage of a mountain rescue is crazy
  • @katehowell3906
imagine how many times they set their camera down to walk by and pick it back up for the edits
  • @hilaryfryer7415
Nate helping Kara cross the big crevasses and telling her good work was so sweet and supportive! I wish I had a tenth of ya'lls energy ;)
  • @himanshipande
I love how Nate keeps hyping up Kara when you were jumping around the glaciers ❤️💞
  • i love that fact that nate never fails to tell kara “good work” or “nice job” making her feel so loved and supported
  • @alexdelux2254
Those crevices scare the crap out of me. I could never do that. Even just watching you guys makes my entire body tense up. That is so damn scary. Literally one step from never being heard from again and dying in such a horrible way. I just can’t.
