I met with jimi back in 1947 and he was playing a guitar . It was a strat . Much earlier though in 1918 during the world war 1 I saw him in the trenches . And in there he was playing a guitar . It was a strat. . White. Well , way back in 1800's in the middle of one of the Custer Wars we met again . And that's where he got the Army jacket he used to wear. He was playing a strat . White . Oh and earlier yet when I met him in Spain in 12th century , fighting the Moors, -that's when he wrote Spanish magic castle . He was playing a strat white

Can't believe all these cool beautiful people at the concert are now in their 70s.

Hendrix wasnt the greatest guitarist in the world....he was the greatest channeler of sound from another dimension.
  • I was there, standing right near where the spot where this was filmed. I clearly remember that day. It was insufferably hot but the music was great. I missed Friday, but went on Saturday and Sunday. I saw some great performances by some great bands: Jethro Tull, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Steppenwolf, Johnny Winter, Booker T, Chambers Brothers, Jimi, and more.

I was there all three days. Hendrix and the entire festival was great. Memorable experience. πŸ‘πŸΎ
  • Imagine what those dudes hanging on the back of his guitar speaker cabinets were hearing and feeling!

That stream of consciousness playing is what gets you. Especially in the beginnings of his growth from side man to start. When he gets in the zone man it's other worldly. He transports you to a world of pure sounds. Notes lose their meaning a lot of the time.

Besides the obvious, Jimi's mad and beautiful playing, I love the whole loosey-goosey vibe of the time. Everything nowadays is so professional and, face it, bland when it comes to popular performing arts. Here we've got people wandering about behind the amps, stage hands rushing out to adjust the drums in the middle of a song, and a really bizarre stage setup. It's all just kind of by the seat of their pants and so much fun. Innocent days.

Nobody was anywhere near Jimi's level of talent, he was a master virtuoso , his fingerboard wizardry changed the entire sound of rock guitar and the way it would be played forever...

Hendrix was awesome πŸ’– I'm so sorry Jimi left this world too soon πŸ˜”πŸ˜–πŸ˜₯😭😭 Kids these days have no idea what they missed to experience Hendrix live, there is no comparison.
