Published 2024-03-27
We were able to save 38 horses through the Buyout Program today, and here you can join Jason (almost) live as the intake is done! You'll get to see most of the horses, and see a whole lot of the process. Get your tissues ready though, it's not all happy...

Canada's largest slaughter feedlot lot has been permanently closed. We will stop the slaughter pipeline. We will save these abused and neglected beautiful beings. ❤❤❤❤

Criminal charges need to be filed on people who bring horses with detrimental injuries to auction. It's just awful when good horses are ruined by bad people.

The first horse off the trailer brought tears to my eyes and I am closer to 80 than 70. How sad! Someone needs to go to jail.,
  • Edit this video and send a copy to representatives in DC. Let them see what they are allowing by not passing bills to protect equines.

Oh my.......First horse, broken leg, how can anyone not CRY for its pain.......omg, and God bless you all......
  • @kerithoma1955
Dr. Lydia, you are a great vet. Thank you so much for helping those horses and letting them move on to greener pastures because their owners couldn’t do that but you can give them the respect and dignity. They need for their last few minutes with love and kindness.

I've been horseless now for 20 years this year. It just tears my heart out to see how mistreated so many of these poor broken horses are, when if someone like me had owned them, they'd have been seen by a vet when they were injured, or given relief from their pain so they wouldn't have to suffer for months and years, and they could have passed peacefully in a place they knew, with their person at their side. This has been a really tough episode to watch. Thank you Horse Plus for saving these horses from a brutal end in the slaughter pipeline.

The bay with the long broken leg brought tears to my eyes. Just the thought that he'd been left to suffer from that for over a year and a half breaks my heart and fills me with such disgust at whoever did that to him.
  • Oh my goodness, that Standardbred's condition is absolutely heartbreaking. Shame on the vet(s) who cleared him through previous auctions.
  • I can't believe how bad some Amish treat their horses. Whoever let this horse live like this for so long is beyond words. What a beautiful kind horse to have people treat him like that. You are all the only hope for these horses. I can't make a large donation, but I think a little help is better than no help. Wonderful way to end this video.
  • Just donated $150. Wish it was more, but will keep donating as much as I can, as often as possible! PLEASE PLEASE donate ANY AMOUNT that you can. It adds up.
  • I hope your laws change really soon - can’t believe America allows very obviously injured horses to be passed through auctions?! So sad to see. Please continue your campaign to push this law through guys xxx❤
  • @asrotties
As heartbreaking as it is to get trailers full of horses that several have to be given the last act of kindness, it is a blessing that these sweet horses do not have to endure the long, torturous trip to the slaughterhouse. Big Hugs to everyone who is helping in any way that they can.
  • @didntlistendad
Hate to think of that poor horse with the broken leg facing days on a trailer in pain on the way to a terrifying death.
  • @lesliec6025
With all of these emaciated, broken and abused horses...is anyone ever held accountable? It's absolutely heart breaking to see what these poor animals have been through and to think that no one will ever be made to face the music is infuriating.
  • @juliekeys4992
and it happens in America, that is what I don’t understand, why is it not a criminal offence, I always thought USA had good welfare laws but have found out they have none, god help all animals especially in US where the citizens should all know better, no excuse. But thank you good people for what you do. God bless you all xx

When my 82 yr old dad passed away in 2022 I promised him to care of his horses (pasture pets) from auctions or horses no one else wanted. I felt like crap when the estate attorney told me we had to get rid of the horses. Please dont think all of the horses in terrible situations are there because of uncaring owners. I bought food, got farrier care & loved on them every day until i was told to stay off the property. We sometimes get our hands tied. I could afford their care but not the legal fees to keep them.
  • @joanneriley3899
“Monsters” That poor 1st horse has been suffering for way, way too long. You can rest easy now Boy, the right people got to love you in the end.
  • @Nancy-mi3xe
I hope whoever saw and ignored that first horse's clear severe injury should be prosecuted. Especially any vet who gave him a health certificate, should lose their license to practice. As soon as I saw that front leg I said to the screen "someone give him some pain med." Thanks to your vet! What a shame. This shouldn't happen at all, but especially not in our country.
