Man,great video but it really shows what age I am, because my pals and I went in 1968. If you had ,say more than half a gallon of petrol, the loading staff pumped it out to about half a gallon. Then, believe it or not they pushed 4 bikes side by side onto a cargo not and slowly took up the slack with the deck crane and hoisted them aboard, and did the reverse in Douglas (IOM). There was a garage in Douglas near the end of the pier that everybody had to use- owner must have made a fortune. Anyway it was a glorious time, and this video brought back nice memories, so thanks for sharing.

I went in 1980, they sucked out the petrol if you had too much, and we were shitting ourselves in case they were going to crane the bikes on, but we were ok in the end. left Liverpool at 11pm arrived 3.30 am toilets on the ferry were swamped, no where to sit except on the floor in the alley, well overloaded.

Nice video! Curious - what camera are you using? Just picked up a chinmount and debating on which camera to get. The quality on yours is SOLID. Cheers!

Looking forward to this. Last time there for me was 2015 but I did a non TT visit and my mate who had never done it still loved riding those roads. Even marshalled on my last visit and as you know the speeds they do are unbelievable.

Just as a point of interest I got all wobbly last year and a chap on the boat said to me if that happens just grab the tank with your knees as hard as you can and it all comes right so on exiting the boat I did what he said and guess what it works Rode all the way to the docks fully laden and when getting on the boat it all went wobbly ???????? so there you go a good bit of advice grab the tank with your legs /knees and all will be well !!!!!!!!!!!

Liverpool always gets bad press as people thrive on it and altho it has its problems what city doesnt. If you ever want a tour of Liverpool and its surrounding area then i will gladly show you around ,i guarantee it can be a very friendly and interesting city.

One good reason for me not to go to the TT. Sardines in a tin box with bits of baler twine to secure £20,000 bike. Thanks for the video. Hope you have a great time

Why would you be stabbed !!!😮 That’s more likely to happen in the Midlands I thought 😊
