Holy cats! I so needed to stumble onto this video. I have been fighting with muscle cramps so bad for over a year. I get them randomly in my ribs, palm of hand, feet, calves, back of knees. I mean to the point it gets me up at 2am in tears needing help to get on my feet... THANK YOU!!!
  • thanks for talking about coffee, i've had leg cramps on/off for over year and have been supplementing with different mg added more salt, and potassium, I even raised the head of my bed for more blood flow to legs; it still persists... cutting down coffee to 0 now is out of desperation.

Another possible factor that may lead to muscle cramping is insufficient insulin signalling. The kidneys require an insulin signal to retain electrolytes and prevent them from wasting. Eating a substantial amount of protein in one go should take care of this.

Thanks so much! I'm carnivore and do have muscle cramps at night. Will try this. God bless you! šŸ¤—šŸ™šŸ™
  • btw i recently heard boron for arthritis too, and for shakes

Success ! Victory is yours. I found that Boron is only necessary once a week but every continent has different level of boron in the soil. So it it a case of sucking it and seeing what happens for each person.

For me it turned out to be I was salting my hamburger too much. I was loading up the salt and pepper thinking it was a good thing. Once I completely stopped the salt my leg and foot cramps went away within a couple days and never returned. Eating just plain unsalted hamburger is not that bad as I thought it would be. When I was getting cramps I was taking potassium and magnesium supplements that didn't work at all. So for my case it was just too much added salt.

God bless you! I've had this problem for YEARS! I have been so frustrated because so many people just kept saying to just take electrolytes, which I've been doing. I've been taking additional potassium and timed-release magnesium and that has helped, but even so every time I go into ketosis, the muscle cramps get progressively worse. I'm definitely going to try the Ketochow minerals! Thank you, thank you!

Thanks for this video, I had no idea caffein affected cramping and often have some late in the day because it does not affect my sleep. Strangely, I have just ordered some decaf and will use that from now on. I will also take Boron, I have it in capsule form and will take it a few hours before going to bed. My cramping is not that bad, but I look forward to being rid of it. šŸ‘šŸ˜

Very important topic and I am glad you found a solution. In my experience with the cramping, (context, been carnivore 7 years). I think as carnivores we over do it with the activity because we donā€™t get sore. Itā€™s true you can get positive results with these supplements but that quite an expense. Also, a good tip is to eat more on your workout days, your muscles need the nutrients and you will find the cramps donā€™t happen when you do that. Plus your money will be going to food instead of supplements. Lastly, electrolyte imbalances are what happens in re-feeding syndrome, so I doubt thatā€™s the cause.

Many years ago when I lifted weights heavily I took creatine and would get similar muscle cramps when I wasn't working out but still supplementing creatine, especially in my hamstrings. Now on carnivore I have cramps all over and it is the only downside of eating like this. Thinking that increased creatine from red meat may be the cause. I did hike through hills a week ago and surprisingly the next day I didn't have the daily cramping. I start back in the gym tomorrow and thinking this may solve the problem.

I think when it comes to diets... There's definitely not a "one size fits all"... I hate it when the ppl say "this is the BEST DIET... The ONLY ONE that works...", "the ONLY ONE that's healthy", blah bla blah because I've been on a plant based diet for over a year, and then switched to a keto diet (which was ok), and now trying more carnivore, BUT in ALL the groups the ppl laugh at you if you're beginning and don't know much or ask "inappropriate questions", and they all say "MY DIET is the real stuff..." it seems to me that they're all some kind of cults because if you don't agree on something, they feel their EGO hurt and even ask you why you are in that group... So, I've seen ppl who defended their diet to death and after 5 - 8 yrs they switched to another kind of diet because they FINALLY CONFESSED they had not been feeling well... so, what they said or showed on TV or social media was just a MASK. Not everything was true and not everything was fine or easy. I do believe human beings will benefit from eating what their body needs, and that has to do with the microbiome, genetics, "race" or ethnicity, place where the person lives, and health issues the person has. If someone is on a diet that needs supplements to feel good... then, I don't think it's a PERFECT DIET. I do understand we all need to take supplements because today's foods are lacking of many minerals, vitamins, etc, but do we really need to be spending money on supplements every month? It would be better to try several diets and come to a personal conclusion based on a personal experience. Besides this... what if in the future the elite said "our farmers will not be allowed to have cattle anymore?" DID YOU KNOW THAT IT IS ACTUALLY HAPPENING RIGHT NOW in several countries in Europe, such as Spain??? The elite (which does mot care about us AT ALL) wants us to eat LAB MADE sh** and bugs because they want to control our food supply chains... So, if that's where they want to take us, because it's a REAL THING, what will we eat? As carnivores, you all should support those attorneys and experts who are trying to avoid this from happening, but I wonder if it would be a good idea to become so picky when it comes to food.

Iā€™m on week 8 of the carnivore diet and my legs and feet are absolutely killing me at night. Itā€™s so bad that Iā€™m literally unable to sleep. Iā€™m five pounds from my weight loss goal so I think Iā€™m just going to call it quits. Itā€™s not worth the misery, pain, and discomfort.
  • @robertlean4563
what worked for me was taking potassium chloride ( pharmaceutical grade) and salt together and also calcium and magnesium
