Today we discuss the End of Fortnite's Build Mode. I want to hear what you guys think, as its a pretty complicated topic. In 5 years, build mode will have a LOT less influence than it does now.

Chapter 1 s3-5 were the golden days in my opinion. You built but you didn't have to get super cracked. That was the after-school casual games that I loved when I used to play. Imagine skipping a season or 2 because you got super busy doing other things. You come back and ur like "this isn't fun".

Although I'm a casual player, I still play build mode. Building and 3rd person view is what makes fortnite unique compared to other battle royals. I love the fact that I can build a cover around myself when I'm attacked rather than jumping around trying not to get lazered.

I'm a casual player. I've tried to close the skil building gap since I first started in chapter 2 season 2. I understand the problem with new players but the building mechanic is what makes the game special. I think a better algorithm and maybe game modes like easy build, normal or turbo , would help out new players. Taking walls and the low/high ping is another issue.

I really like the idea of making builds rechargeable. For example you start with 20 charges, which means you can put 20 building peaces however you want, but every building peace will recharge in 2 seconds. That means if you waste all your buildings you won’t be able to spam it anymore. However i feel like buildings themselves should be stronger. This change will allow to do a short push pr build a fort or something like that, basically change the playstyle idk

I'm in the middle. I'm not great at building and have no time to put into edit courses to become crazy at it. But I also hate zero build because I LIKE being able to throw up a ramp or wall for a bit of protection. Who knows what will happen! But thanks for these videos - I always appreciate your insight.
  • I personally would like to try a no edit mode. Still allowing builds but removing edits would be a good middle ground for people who still like to build, but can’t keep up with the skilled editors
  • Honestly, the big things driving me away is the inundation of so much junk and the massive skill gap. I just wish it was like how it used to be.

I will never stop playing build mode regardless of what they do. It's just better for me, sure, I'm not great at it, but it keeps me in the game longer, which in turn makes it more fun. Every time I'm ik Zero build I get taken out instantly, and it's not fun. Or someone shoots across the map and I try to build, getting killed in the process with no direction in which to try and aim. I will take sweats building crazy structures over bush campers that you can't see any day.
  • This game will always be the best game for nostalgia. Like the moments back then were just different

This is a great take, especially about builds. I also feel like build mode needs to be revamped for the sake of it being revived as a whole playlist. Too many players are discouraged by the fact that when they hop into build mode, all they'll be fighting are a bunch of sweats, whereas opposed to no-build it's a more casual experience. Change can be good and I do believe it needs to happen to make the entirety of Fortnite fun for everyone, with every game mode.

I agree that build mode is intimidating, especially Arena for new players (like myself). But to me, build mode is still the preferred choice. Improving a little bit every day makes Fortnite fun for me at the end of the day. Good suggestions though, Sypher
  • I’ve been playing since chapter 1 szn 0 and all i can say is i still love fortnite, players getting better forced me to get better aswell so i can definitely stand up for my self/win the game, but i do miss the old days were we all could just have fun
  • @dishchilla
I think some changes would be cool but I gotta disagree that build mode will go anywhere. If anything the BR itself will die out a lot and it will be more creative stuff
  • @SkaaraX
This is such a good video and it tackles a serious problem in the Fortnite community. Glad someone with big following finally spoke up about it.
  • @Marco-jx2ic
I think a mode with just 100 materials max should be considered. You keep the originally intended mechanics of building a fort in you get caught out in the open or to get that slight advantage in a fight but you totally remove all the crazy build fights. Removing the experience of building isn't quite nice if you played from the early days, but also being 'outbuilt' by someone isn't. So maybe a low material-capped mode could be considered
  • The easiest way to get rid of this problem is for Epic to limit how much mats you can carry. The less mats, the less you use. And if any sweats are in your game, they will probably run out of mats right in the middle of a build fight.
  • I love how intense these types of videos are like the end of fortnite or this props to you

This game will always have a special place in my heart, hope you’re doing great
  • @nour.222
Never liked build mode, the day no build came I was hooked to the game. EpicGames please bring RANKED matches to NoBuild!
  • @raulcelis6998
You can try to find a mid point between zero build and building mode.. For instance, building without editing (or limited edit) and turbo build. In that way it will feels more like in the beginning. More fun and casual. And building will be used as an strategic tool, not like a slide cancel overpowered advantage (just like COD) if you mastered.
