This presentation tells the story of FIGMOS ptl. A black owned supermarket best known for its unique name which was an acronym meaning “Finally I Got My Own Supermarket, Praise The Lord”. This presentation also includes a bonus story of equal significance. This is the second in a series of “Original Productions” from The Buffalo History Channel.

To be honest, I was really hoping to see the FIGMOS commercial/jingle 😦. There are some of us who remember it so vividly. We can relive all the great shows like Sanford and Son, or Good Times because they are readily available. But the elusive FIGMOS commercial has yet to surface that I know of. I literally buy old, used vhs tapes hoping one day I will find it. Anyway, thanks for history lesson ☺.
