This song hits hard because my mum used to listen to it all the time. I never understood why back then and assumed she just liked the song. But it’s only now that I realised why she listened to it religiously and I cry every time I hear it. My dad left my mum for a woman he met a couple of times and left behind my mum and 4 young kids. Me being the youngest of the 4. I can’t help but cry for my mum’s sake every time I hear this song…

Edit: Wow I really didn’t expect so many people from all over the world to show support and empathy and I am truly so grateful for every single comment, I read them all <3 I’m 18 now, my ‘father’ left while my mum was 6 months pregnant with me, he wasn’t there for my birth like he was to my older brothers. Maybe it was partly because I was the first and only girl, or maybe because he truly didn’t care. But my mum and my family have moved on from this trauma now and honestly even though I am still young at 18, I don’t think I will ever meet another person as strong as my mum. She really worked three jobs to raise us four and I’m so grateful. I can’t wait for when I can repay her with gifts and money of my own. She deserves every ounce of spoiling with love and gifts.
