A year has passed since the lionesses of the Boulder Pride bore their cubs. The youngsters have gotten much bigger and, amazingly, all nine have survived. But the lions in the northern savannah on the border of Kenya and Tanzania have a problem: new males have taken over the territory, expelling the members of the Boulder Pride. Now they must hunt without the support of the rest of their family – closely followed by their arch-rivals, the hyenas always on their tails.
Who will be the winner in the end is often uncertain: The lions with their raw power or the hyenas, strongly relying on their family bounds? Few animals are as laden with clichés in general perception as lions and hyenas: ‘Clash of the Clans’ reminds us that we need to rethink our view of the eternal rivals – the noble kings’ and the cowardly devious scavengers.

I never knew hyenas had such a strict hierarchy. It's like high school all over again! Those final words are so true. Lions and hyenas may fight, but they both need each other to survive.

Great documentary. You do not see the lions becoming old often so its good to see how they manage. I thought they were accepted as brothers who were helped towards their end. I like the way this shows the parts usually unseen. 🔥🙏
