Mother Moose Chases off Grizzly Bear || ViralHog

I don't think people realize how massive moose are and how protective a momma can be. The grizzly knew that a few hooves to the head would have ruined his day and maybe even his life.

I encountered a cow with calves in Alaska several years ago. I did not see her until I was already between her and her calves. Huge mistake. She could have easily killed me but let me off with a warning bluff. Trust me these are animals you don't want to mess with, even if you're a grizz.

Damn did anyone else notice how fast that grizzly was? Right in front of the moose one second, and like two seconds later it was a block away lol.

In my time in the woods here in North Idaho, I think I have more fear/respect for a momma moose with cubs than any other dangerous critter out there. Moose are an amazing, powerful, silent, and dangerous beast.

She’s like “Oh, you aren’t leaving? Here…let me give you a little encouragement”.

She's like all mommas, saying, "Don't make me come up there!"

She has two babies! I only saw one with her at the water's edge. She is huge and a very protective mom. 💞

Anytime there are young involved, there is no animal more driven by instinct than a mother. This momma was going to protect her babies at all cost. I hope she continued to be this successful.

That's how you know a Moose is strong. When even a Grizzly has second thoughts

Moose can be quite intimidating and if you haven't seen the adults in person you don't get how big they are. I've done a good bit of hiking through moose country (Montana, Wyoming, New Hampshire etc). One morning very early just as the sun was coming up I saw a big bull moose come out from the treeline to a little grazing area. I grabbed my camera and approached the area trying to get a shot. From behind a line of trees came this enormous snort/bellow. I took off running like a cartoon character lol and never looked back 😂 I like how this mother even after the bear backed away, charged a second time to make sure he got the idea lol

Bear: “Can I eat one of your babies?” Moose charges. Bear: “Well, alrighty then.”

The definition of a mother and what a mother will do for her babies at it's purest form!

Moose makes the grizzly look like a chihuahua.

What a great Mama , and such an adorable little calf.

That calf looks about 1 hour old. The Mother tried to get the calf to follow her twice but the calf is just too young to understand. Wait until the end - there's another baby !

The little guy knew to get behind mom and mom knew to step up, just like mom's always do. Very inspiring

love how the bear kept lunging to try and scare the momma and she would barely flinch and then she lunged and the bear was like 50 feet away in 2 seconds 💀

With a mother like that, the young one has a very bright future!
