If someone told me that Oboe jokingly dubbed over the actual audio for this entire game, I'd believe it.

It's also a Front Mission game, despite that is never clarified (presumably because they knew this was a stinker). I remember all the reviews being confused about the lore, because it was actually based on a franshise dating back to 1995

I beat this last year with a trainer that increased my movement speed, it was literally the only reason I could stomach the insane distance the player character had to travel on foot in these gargantuan levels. Even with that enabled, it still took me 31 hours to complete. Also, Olga is wholesome and best character.

they have the audacity to feature some warcriminal child kidnapper in the game and not let you shoot him? the only thing worse would be giving you a game over for doing it.

The tragedy here is that some kind of "Final Fantasy / Metal Gear" style crossover game really could work, yet this is what they came up with instead.

Fun fact: if you look at the map of Ruthenia and Garmoniya in the opening cutscene, you'll see that the two countries are just present-day Ukraine split in half down the middle. Even better, Zaftra is basically a union of Slavic nations with Russia as it's largest and most influential member-state.
