Demo of a Silvertone/Harmony H1260 Baxendale Conversion, by Scott Baxendale.

Published 2023-05-27
This guitar has been through our proprietary remanufacturing process that converts these old department store guitars originally made by the Harmony and Kay factories in Chicago between 1890-1975. We have replaced all of the internal bracing with our proprietary scalloped tuned X bracing design. We also plane and refret as well as reset the neck to our new rosewood pin style bridge. We replace the nut and saddle with bone and install new gears. Each guitar comes with a new guitar warranty. Check out www.staygoldguitars.com/baxendaleconversions

Absolutely gorgeous, sir! I agree, the bass on that guitar stands out so beautifully, but yet doesn’t overwhelm and cover up the sparkling highs. Amazing job! 🙂💖

These are my fav Sovs! I have two, one with incredibly close grain and the other with serious 3D bear-claw top. One day when I can muster the courage to cut into the perfect finish I'll X-brace at least one of them. Currently working on a 14" Supertone from the 20s I got from Creek Road guitars =)
