BONELAB - Mirror Dimension

There's actually a reason for it, on some mirrors there's a written warning that the avatar in the mirror is not actually you but a void entity mimicking your movement

My favourite piece of bonelab lore is that the mirror has an alluring effect that causes you to not want to look away (it turns you into a vrchat player) (you can find the lore folder in the keycard room in mirror btw)

This is a reflection of a technique used in the 1990s and which this game canonically is somewhere between 1996 and 1999... Whatever happens to be about one to two years after the events of bone works. The technique of having a NPC copy literally everything you do in the mirror which happens to actually be another room is basically how any mirror works in that time frame. In pillar climb, the leak on that side which is not on your side of the mirror gives sentience to the imitation, and it turns into the void ball and breaks out.

I think they where going for a lore reason for these to exist, as mirrors that reflect all are quite simple. but i feel like the lack of easter eggs and unfinished areas makes me think otherwise.

What!?! The insane Amount of detail and secrets they put into this game is insane

I get that they did this because actually rendering a mirror in unity is wack, especially on the quest. but I am a little dissapointed they dont atleast make the mirror version of you hold the same items you do.

Dang, for a second I thought someone found out some insane secret related to mirrors. Mostly due to the writing on some of the mirrors talking about a void entity living in the mirror and it not being a real mirror. Still a cool fact though.

I remember doing this in monogon motorway by accident and thought it was some super secret Easter egg, turns out I'm just an idiot

The oit of bounds void are like the painting glitch effect not just plain black how is yours black? Or is it just the video making it black

I've actually jumped at the mirrors several times and bounced off of them. It never let me go through. What am I missing?...
