"What's more exciting than a double line?!" It's the small things in life! 🥰 But I do really like that double line idea!

I just found this and your mention of having to train your book to stay open made me smile. I stitch my own sketchbooks and it’s really very easy to train a stitch-bound book to stay open (don’t do this with a perfect-bound glued only spine, you’ll ruin it). It only takes a couple minutes. About as long as it takes to read this, really. Go to the back, open to the last 10-15 pages, stretch the book open wide enough that the front and back covers nearly touch. Go ahead. Don’t be afraid. 😉 Then go to the front of the book and stretch open the first 10-15 pages, matching the same bend-back action as before. Then return to the back, open the next 10-15 pages…lather, rinse, repeat back and forth between front and back every 10-15 pages until you meet in the middle of the book. By the time you get done, the spine will be relaxed enough to stay flat without arguing at whatever page you have it opened to. And it will close right back up just as easily, but on your terms, not the stitched spine’s. Cheers.

Amanda - that checklist line on the left hand page of the weeklies has changed my life. Thank you!

Hope this helps. To get the weeks to lay flat - and for ANY bound/glued book - condition the spine. As soon as you get it from front to back page by page put thumb centre spine (centre two pages), smooth gently up to top along join, down to bottom & back to centre again. Repeat front to back, page by page until you have done all pages. Then, do the same but going from back to front of the book page by page. This stops getting the 'split' that can happen on some spines.
  • For the errant sticker - glue 😂. Love this update. I really appreciate your esthetic - so calming and something I aspire to.

I've watched a lot of Hobonichi videos and your video has been the best so far. Great ideas, especially your monthly trackers in the back. Thanks!
  • @BrandiJanei
Happy New Year! It looks beautiful. I wish I could write that small.
  • Love, love, love the way your HoboWeeks looks and how you‘re using it! 💙 Also just wanted to tell you as an avid watcher of your stories on IG how much I love you chat about stationery and Chase and just life in general. 💙💙 Happy New Year, Amanda!
  • It lays flat fine! Just open it to random pages and bend backwards gently. Then once you write in it a few times it lays flat perfectly. No need to lay heavy stuff on it for days. Hope that helps!
