I had been experimenting with epoxy and wood chess board. Your idea of adding an 1/8" space for the epoxy to flow is masterful and something that I had not thought of. This came out beautifully. Great job!
  • @ct1freak
That is by far one of the coolest chess boards I've ever seen but it's looks unfinished without having all the squares defined.
  • Just found this video 👏 I have to say it is the best well informed, best explanation of what you where doing video I have ever seen. Thank you for sharing. For someone that was just starting out and wanted to make a board this would be the video I would recommend. From start to finish it is excellent video. Cheers to you.

Beautiful work Ben! I like how you went with tournament regulation 2-1/4” size squares!

Looks good Ben. I haven't yet ventured into epoxy. Maybe at some point, with the right project.
  • @paul_warner
Now that I have seen the basic idea I must see the full process.

I want one! I'd definitely buy that. That dark purple looks beautiful.
  • Very pretty but I think I would have skipped putting the feet on because of placement.

Bad ass chess board!!! I bet a lil high speed buffing would have really made that thing it shine. Im not sure how nervous you were popping off the bottom piece of your mold but i was dang sure biting my nails. Lol
  • am I the only one who has noticed that the king is on the wrong square? fantastic job you did there, and the swirls are phenomenal.
  • @bill0405

  • @dantwomey

  • This video is GOLD 🔥🔥but YOU ARE A ROCKSTAR !!’ 🙌🙌🙌 thank you 🙏
  • Leave out a few cubes, pour in bigger area, then place the last few cubes. Stain/ seal before adding coloured acrylic. I was sure you were going to drill tiny holes and place an LED in each of the acrylic squares (light and dark squares). Maybe next video :)
