There is no audiance to appreciate his art. He doesnt realize that he is alone, and so sends more men to die for his unseen, unreasonable masterpiece.

Fun fact : with rough estimation, if this is a 1 min length movie, with minimal 24fps then about 1440 soldiers were killed.

This is so well done, better than the crap Hollywood produces. Camera angles, selective focus and depth of field, composition, everything is fantastic.

Tomek Bagiński is genius, watch his other animations and remember, this was done 20 years ago. more advance graphics back than then in biollion dollar industry.
  • The war is created for the amusement of the ones that control the world and this is done with real people's lives. This short video is a masterpiece and full of deep meaning.
  • When I first saw the guy taking the picture of the fallen soldier I was like, "Wow, what a sick guy". But when I saw that they were making a movie, and that each frame was a dead soldier , then "Wow, THAT is sick". Because imagine the hundreds of soldiers that didn't fall the way that they needed and they kept killing more until the guy fell "correctly"...

  • I was blind and this film showed me the light, cause it changed my views on the pride of being a soldier and the loyalty with which we follow orders. What a great film!!!
  • __this is exactly how the 'elite' works ... sacrificing the weak for their own selfish interests__

I'm having a hard time believing I watched this as a kid and didn't get traumatized
  • Everything about war and blind obedience, in just over 5 minutes. BTW, the rendering is absolutely exceptional for its time!

I love how it's also a nod to traditional animation, although in a very dark and perverted way 😆. I remember seeing this short when I went to UNI more than a decade ago. One of the best shorts i've seen in my life.
  • I remember watching this short film about a decade ago. I tried to find it every now and again. And here it is on my recommends. Very nice.

Props for the guy taking the pictures who managed to keep all the shots in place with just his hands, he really worked hard for his position.
  • I believe this short film has a profound meaning, in real life is the same , when you are not needed you are out of the picture, we are like poppets , always to the other's service .

Some moments hit you in a way that you can't express. 4:15 where the soldier is flapping their wings like an angel was one of those moments. The fact the artist is barely even looking at the pictures, lost in his own imagination of the war.

Смотрю в 2022 году... Аналогия с персонажами и реальность за окном очевидны!

Это надо же так придумать. Жутко и гениально одновременно. Гениально в плане аллегории на действительность.

Every great animations begins with a clever concept and this is no exception - brilliantly conceived and wonderfully executed (no pun intended).
  • Not even in my wildest dreams I could have imagine seeing the big boss dancing, let alone creating a movie with those pictures. Amazing piece of "art"!!! Great job 👏
