Before the 2024 live action Netflix reboot in 2010 Hollywood attempted the impossible, a direct live action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Turns out. It was impossible. With many considering this to be M. Night Shyamalan's worst directorial effort by a long way putting a stop to any potential sequel or new live action adaptation until recently. Thanks for watching our Caravan Of Garbage review

Playing Cade Jaegers daughter in "Transformers: Age of Consent" and having that be not the worst movie you've been in really is an accomplishment though..

An entire squad of earthbenders doing an extended choreographed routine to slowly move a single rock across the screen will never not be hilarious.

7:13 "theres a boomerang in this movie?"

Imagine being so bad at movies that you make a boomerang and australians don't recognize it.

The bit with Aang teaching the earthbender prisoners to use the earth all around them is my favourite example of the movie missing the point. In the show the earthbenders are imprisoned on a metal ship in the middle of the ocean specifically so they can't earthbend. The movie puts them in a conventional prison and then acts like none of them ever thought about earthbending until Aang arrived.

I think it's funny that Mason clearly did not know that General Zhao and Firelord Ozai are different characters
  • Fun fact: The Dragon Spirit was an original creation by M Night Shamalan for this movie. They were based on Ran and Shaw who first appeared in Season 3 Episode 13. Initially they considered to add both Red and Blue dragon as spirits. But red is difficult colour to film. So they picked Blue Dragon as spirit guide for Aang. This led to the working title being "Blue Harvest", which was also the working title of original Star Wars.

The Avatar trilogy is nonsensical. They go to space and hang out with tall blue monkeys in the first. Then in the second there's no returning characters or links of any kind as far as I can see - it's about this magical bald child who controls his wind very well or whatever, then for the third they go back to the blue monkey world and swim around for a bit. Absolutely baffling

"If the moon is closer you get more power from the fish."
    I have no notes.
  • I get annoyed whenever a director claims they had a 4 hour + masterpiece that got ruined in the edit. That doesn't count for anything! You know how long theatrical films are! Plan accordingly from the beginning! This especially goes to Zach Snyder.
  • at around 6:25 the boys talk about how its difficult to know geography and the distance traveled and where they are and all that. This made me realize that it was really helpful of the show to literally show us a map of the world before each episode, and often times the characters would pull out a diegetic map and literally show their intended route, and i think that really helped the show succeed, even in a subtle way

"A series of scenes washed over me and at the end I'm not changed at all. So good for you, Hollywood, you've done it again."
    incredible quote.

Grandma Exposition and A Dragon That Gives Vague Advice, two of the most robust archetypes of fantasy literature

I love that Mason came up with Tai Li's chi blocking via his half a brick jutsu.
  • I never noticed that Mr Aziz was the main villain and I will never unsee that now

20:07 Can't even remember the best line of the series, "My first girlfriend turned into the moon..."

“You know I’m in possession of half a brick…” 😂😂🤣😭😭

"There's a boomerang in this movie?" Has to be one of my favorite things that anyone has ever said about this lol. Also, finding out that Zhao was played by Mr. Aziz felt like an enormous betrayal that I can't fully describe.

My daughter just graduated high school, I still remember the magical day she was born, the same day James & Maso recorded this
