I watched this video forever ago. It took exactly 2 years (started running 6/1/2017), but today I finished a 5K at 19:35. Great advice here and everywhere on your channel. Thanks.

It took me five years to get there. First ever 5k was 38 minutes. Now I'm down to 19:19. I cannot stress enough how important those intervals were for me. Hopefully will hit the 18s sooner rather than later. Breaking 20:00 was very hard though.
  • I started running six months ago and my first 5k was around 32 minutes , now I can achieve easily sub 25 and my personal record is 23:32. Thanks to interval workouts I am doing better week by week. Cheers!!

Damn I got my best time of 28:12, you'd have thought by the smile on my face that I'd just won the Olympics. Gonna take your tips on board, thanks

Really wish I lived near a track to train on sometimes

Must be a pain for Americans to think pace in imperial and distances in metric ...

I started my 2019 XC season with a 26:35 and within two months of training I ended the season with a 21:10. Hoping to hit that under 20:00 minute next season.

I'm happy to get under 30 minutes. Under 20 would be phenomenal

After years of walking everywhere decided to try running, bloody difficult, and doing couch to 5k. On week 3 now and running 3 minutes in a row which is huge for me at a pace of 5 flat, honestly such a good programme it seems as couldn't run 30 seconds before

I’m 41 years old and 18 months back into running. After about 5 weeks running 3 times a week following a half marathon “improvers” training plan, Bam! There it was! I just went out and did it! 19.47. It was tough though! By far the toughest running challenge I have set myself!
  • @LadyGameLyric
Happened across this exactly a year later. I prefer long distance races, but have been dabbling in 5Ks lately. This is very helpful!

A sub 20 minute 5K seems so far away right now, but it is something I'd love to achieve once...

Anyone doing 5K in under 20 minutes is a machine (or a teen), congratulations! My best all time is like 23:50 ... I'm not in my best shape right now but I'm around 26 minutes. I'm gonna train for this. I just did 1K in 4 minutes but after 5 minutes break I got second K in 4:20 ... just gonna try to get 2K in 8 minutes first.

my god, if you are talking in kilometres for distance...please use kilometres for pace
  • @MavicAVF
Did a 30:35 the first time ever, a day later 27:15, took a rest day, next day did it in 25:04, i’m aiming for 20 minutes at the end of the month
  • @MercyBeYou
This is my ultimate goal (well 30 minutes for me) I've been blogging on my channel as motivation.
