I just got back from Tokyo for 7 days I only spent around 1600$ but bought whatever I wanted ate whatever I wanted and used the train system whenever I wanted! And I paid for almost all of my boyfriends food when we we ate and his public transportation and drinks! Coming from California I think Tokyo was a lot cheaper than I thought, I think Tokyo can be cheap if you want it to be, we kept it pretty local we didn’t do expensive things like go to amusement parks or go to touristy things like teamlab borderless, I was surprised to see how cheap and good food was! And alcohol!

A tip for people that live near newark: You can get an economy flight for like $620 if you book with united and book it as ZFV (train station in philly) stop at the newark airport and fly to haneda. You can just call ahead to the airport and tell them you dont want the train from philly to newark and just fly directly from newark to haneda
