This version resonates much better with me. Like the pain and disappointment is so out in the open that you can’t feel anything else but the direct meaning of the lyrics. It’s just as it is.

Beautiful! Inspite the passage of time, I hear the depth of the pain and suffering and the richness of lyrics as only the composer can. Now I understand why Linda Rondstadt she recorded it immediately. Love it .. heartfelt and sincere.
