For years I've been searching for the perfect everyday bag for my unique needs, and on my most recent trip, I accidentally discovered that this is, by FAR, the most versatile bag for EVERY situation and it's not even close - work, travel, and even for my hobby of making videos right here.

0:30 - Core EDC
I've had this bag for some time now, but it wasn't until my trip last month to Europe, celebrating my mom's retirement with her where I truly discovered just how versatile this bag is. It's a very strange juxtaposition, where I have owned SO many bags, while my goal is to have as few as possible. Anytime I see something that I feel is more versatile than any that I own, I sell or giveaway one of my previous ones and the cycle keeps going, but this is the first time in years where I've felt like, "whoa... this is the one." It may not be right for you, but as you see in the entirety of the video, it's clearly near-perfect for my unique needs.

Note: the two I use are called the "Terra Red" and "Savannah Green" colorways which were 2021 Limited Editions. You can absolutely still find them here and there, but they aren't as readily available as Lamy's standard colorways.

1:19 - Job 1 Carry
At the workshop, Eric, myself, and a few other team members service mostly industrial clients. With machining, welding, bending, lasers, hydraulic presses and all that heavy machinery, finding durable carry items is absolutely critical.

The pouch I use for this job's carry is called The HUB Pouch by Alpaka. If you decide to pick one up, be sure to try the limited discount code found above: glnk.io/90jr/mauricemoves

2:36 - Job 2 Carry
Over the past 7 years, I've gradually transitioned away from the 80% filming and editing and 20% sales & client communications, to the exact opposite, where, by a huge margin, my time is spent doing sales and bringing in new business, and closing repeat business. When it comes to folks I hire, I am TERRIBLE with actually MAKING videos, while engaging with clients and prospects is where I truly feel most useful.

The pouch I use for this job's carry is called The Admin Pouch by Alpaka. Be sure to try the discount code near the top of this description box, but you can find the Admin Pouch here: glnk.io/90jr/mauricemoves

Like my notebook and pens, these are invaluable to me for earning a living. It's incredible how much clarity can be gained by working with clients to quickly sketch up problems on a window or whiteboard, and the confidence it instills in people is undoubtedly a huge component in closing sales.

Awesome since all my computers are USB-C, but many client offices still only have USB-A computers.

This camera sling is great, but I just can't use it for travel as you saw.

  • The variety of textures in the :yt: kislux :yt: pack is impressive. From smooth leather to textured suede, there's something for everyone.
  • @genmaicha_
fun fact: this sling also pefectly fits a steam deck with a travel cover (dbrand or any similar function cover) i use this sling as a daily carry and it holds my main EDC, steam deck, steam deck accessories, and even a few luxuries with ease
  • @ropro9817
Love the magnetic key holder and bright orange interior of the Alpaka sling. ❤
  • @ropro9817
Maurice: If you're looking for content ideas, would love to see more of the metal working side of your job. 🤠Especially since I know nothing about that world.
  • @HomesickMac
I'm a huge user of Alpaka stuff and this bag is one of my favorites. Versatile like none, I can use it as a commuting sling, on my gigs as a music accessory bag, photo/video shoots, and it was a perfect companion on a summer trip from Sweden to the UK, by train. Everything I needed during the ride was with me while the roller bag rested up on the luggage shelf.
  • @TheChewieBar
Bought one a couple of weeks ago, and it's the best bag I've ever had. So versatile, lightweight and yet packs in everything I need
  • @ChrisLeonard0
Also own this sling. Bought it after getting the Elements Backpack and absolutely loving it. 100% Alpaka should be part of your carrying needs conversation.
  • @MrGaryparker
I tried to return an item, only to find out that I had to ship it back to Australia with tracking, which cost almost as much as the purchase price. Needless to say, be careful purchasing Alpaka because of their return policy.
  • @hudson8074
The bolt and mini wrench charms on your notebook is adorable
  • @JKWhite627
I dont know what was the first video of yours I watched, but I’ve been hooked to your video. So concise, well organized and full of useful information! Keep it up!
  • @qistinasofian
i cant believe, metal febrication job can be cool and exciting when i see your videos.
  • Your channel is amazing. Thank you so much for many reviews including this one. I got this Alpaca bag about a week ago and I absolutely LOVE it. I store my 14" MacBook Pro inside, along with an A5 leather journal + cover, leather field notes wallet (a bit smaller than a travelers brand notebook), iPhone, keys, a Maxpedition pouch with all kinds of "just in case" tools/grooming/emergency supplies, AirPods, sunglasses, and several large fountain pens. In the external zippered compartment I carry my 11" iPad Pro in a Logitech keyboard case. And in the hidden back pocket I carry an ID badge on a lanyard. I can wear this on my motorcycle without fear of water ruining my electronics. I wear it as a sling in front when on my motorcade or driving a car, and when walking it's on my back (sling mode) or on one shoulder (messenger mode). It is the most comfortable and wisely designed EDC bag I've ever used...and I have tried so many. It even doubles as a handy desk surface (due to its contoured shape) when placed face down underneath my laptop. Sooo versatile.
  • @LL-ni4mb
FINALLY, you address the photography gear. Since I've watching your videos, I have wondered whether any of the Alpaka slings would protect camera gear. Thank you for mentioning this. The Alpaka seemed to accommodate photography gear just as well if not better than Peak Design.
  • @HK-mh3io
Informative & enjoyable videos. Thank you for keeping the cross referenced videos displayed for an extended period.
  • @Ranhallen
I've had the Max Pro for a little over a year and I love it. I bought it when I drove for a living and it was great for essential items plus road-useful stuff like toiletries and snacks. Recently changed careers and it stores tech for pop-up workspace and my switch for breaks along with my snacks still. On the weekends, it's my D&D bag with books, dice, rolling mat, and of course snacks.. versatile is an understatement.
  • @CrispyTuckley
Thank you for this video, sir! I love this sling too and it was nice to see how others use it
  • @maxlvledc
For me the bag is the Osprey Tote/backpack...its crazy good
  • @user-vl8sh7ih8c
I'm a big fan of Alpaka's products and even a bigger fan of Alpaka's customers support (they really take care of their customers). I own and use several Alpaka products. Unfortunately the Bravo Sling Max did not work out. On the version that I owned the shoulder strap was my issue. It is on the short side. The padded end is fixed in place and only adjusts on one side. I could never get the sling to hang comfortably (I'm a bigger guy with a long torso). I'm fairly sure that if you are a average to small person this would not be an issue. I also found the sling could get very heavy quickly. When packed out it was better hanging on my shoulder like a briefcase rather than a sling (but that may just be the strap again). I hope this helps someone. Thanks, Maurice!
  • @qistinasofian
i love the idea of the chest mount on the bag's strap
  • @GaryMeacher
This feels like its made for me. I've been struggling with a tech bag sling and a separate laptop bag. This is very promising. Thanks for the rec and the discount code!
