This decade was all about experimental music from established bands. The guys might not have thought so much about it but i believe Tai Shan is loved by Rush fans. ❤❤❤

I don't care if Geddy and Alex don't like this song and wish they had never done it. I like it and thats what matters to me!

This was 100 years ahead of its time

The first time I heard this song, I sobbed. Even now, the tears threaten. There is something so beautiful here.

I don't understand the negativity to this song. It's one of the most inoffensive songs I've ever heard. it's an atmospheric, mellow song. If people complain it's corny then what abut Rivendell, Cinderalla Man or Tears from their classic 70s era?
  • This song brings back very special memories for me. I was in grade 7 at the time, and had to pick a partner for a geography project about China. Her name was Nancy, and her family was Chinese, so that should make this assignment easier! To make a long story short, when it came time to choose what music we should play during our slide show, SHE picked “Tai Shan”, NOT ME, the Rush fan! Turns out that she was a fan, too! We spent half of our time listening to their albums! We didn’t stay friends after we presented our project to the class. She was all nerdy, and I was the class clown. But, I will always remember that time when we bonded over Rush. And when I hear this song in particular, I wonder if she’s thinking about me too.

What an inspirational song for the people of China to what they are going through :-)

This totally sounds like something that Bruce Cockburn would write and record. Even the instrumentation sounds like Cockburn.

Its one of my favorites that everyone seems to hate. That being said different strokes for other folks eh. Like what you want
