“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.“ Do you remember this moment from the Season Two finale? Our decision to portray the key moment from the greatest sermon in history in such a unique way became one of the most impactful moments in The Chosen thus far.

Take special note of the combination of the performances with the music .

This whole scene makes me cry because you can feel God's love pouring out of the beatitudes. And when Jesus looked at Matthew during the last one, I always cry harder because I know what it's like to be ridiculed by others and only having Jesus there to be my friend. He has been there for me when no one else has. Thank you, Lord, for seeing something in me that I do not see in myself.

I have failed god yet he has never failed me, Amen

I am an ex-Hindu, we have many gods, but let me tell you when I learned about what Jesus said, what Jesus did, I cried out with in my soul and said, if there is God in the world, if there is a Creator of this whole Universe, it must be God who is like Jesus. That is my conversion testimony. Now I run the race, that I may win, always dragging and carrrying my cross through my life, every single day when I wake up, I pick up my cross and drag it, carry it and try to live as my Lord and my God, Jesus Christ has commanded me. Though I fail many times, He is always there to pick me up. He has called me by my name. He formed me in the womb of my mother, He has woven me there. He knew me by name even before I was born. I am Yours Lord, and You chose me when I was yet Your enemy and You died for me when I did not even know You. I wish to see You so much. I love You so much Lord, come soon for Your elect. Keep me till the Judgement Day, let not Your Grace depart from me, or my family ever. Amen

Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. Matthew 5:3‭-‬12 KJV

This is definitely one of my favorite scenes. Especially, the part when Jesus addresses Matthew directly. When we think nobody notices when we are going through difficulties for His sake, Jesus sees us. He knows every detail of our life. Thank you, will be reading the Beatitudes in a different light.

Imagine: not only being the first person to hear this, you're the person Jesus wanted to help him with it. As if that wasn't amazing enough, but on top of that, you're hearing it from him directly. Wow

I love how they casted middle eastern looking people mostly for this movie. It really adds to the authenticity to it all lowkey.
  • I'm a rough man. Can't get a tear out of me. But as I watch this, something else moves in my heart that chokes me, and I become teary eyed. God Bless this project, because it's spreading His Word through this artform. I add myself to the millions of people whom God may be touching and changing lives.

I love Jesus. I can’t believe people shun him. He is my savior. I can’t be shaken. I trust in Jesus.
  • @michaelman957
Regarding the map analogy, God is telling Matthew, "If people want to find me, you're one of the people they should look to."
  • @tannyn4460
Paras Patel, the actor who is playing Matthew, is knocking it out of the park. Great scene between Jesus and Matthew ♥️
  • @misty_g
The look on Jesus' face, in his eyes, brings me to tears. He knew what was coming, what HAD to happen. Such an intense, & beautiful scene!🙏🏻
  • Jesus Christ healed me! This is my story about my healing!I was extremely ill! I had diabetes and kidney failure, which urgently requires dialysis! I prayed to God to heal me, not for me, because I don't deserve it, but for my little children, who were left without a mother! in exactly that day, in which I prayed, the Lord healed me! I suddenly felt the pain in my kidneys go away, as well as the dryness in my mouth (diabetes). I'm a new women now! I thank the Lord for His mercy and love for us!!!!
  • After watching this scene, you will NEVER read the Beatitudes the same way again. It is incredibly powerful and moving. And was certainly a surprise in the way it was presented.
  • I was born into a Ateist family, the small notions of Goodness in my childhood came from Japanese Shinto Buddhism. For many years I have been seeking truth, I have always heard the gentle voice of God in my heart, but I always felt that most religions have been tainted by man. The first time I touched the bible, I knew that Christianity might be my path, I was not 100% sure yet, but when the first episode of The Chosen lid up my screen, I knew. The God that has been inside me all this time is the God almighty the holy trinity my father my greator. When I finally return home to my own country I will be baptized and enter the realm of forgiveness. I could not do anything else but to donate to the creation of more episodes in the future, and you should do the same.... May God shine upon our souls....
  • This scene melts my heart every time When they showed John being arrested I teared up

“If someone wants to find me, those are the groups they should look for.” ❤ So convicting. Often I find myself trying to find groups opposite of the beatitudes. This helps me remember what to look for to see Jesus truly and his character.
  • I'm a grown man of 28 years old, but everytime I watch this part I cries like a 5 year old kid. And that part when he face Mathew and talk to him indirectly is the most touching one. 😭😭 I believe Jesus is still watching us from Heaven above and caring us everyday. 🥺🙏
