The moment you mentioned Carbon-14 dating on a WEDDING RING, I knew I made the right decision to skip this show on first airing. At the time, the teasers were too similar to the JJ Abrams mystery box Lost show for my liking. Glad to see I needn't have worried about missing out. FYI, Carbon-14 dating only works on formerly living material that incorporates carbon (as part of its diet), and is used to date trees, plants, and animal remains. Wedding rings are metal, and don't have any significant amounts of carbon incorporated (unless they're made of pig iron, but that's another story).
