Jake Gyllenhaal joins BBC Radio 1's film critic Ali Plumb to talk about his new Prime Video bar brawler Road House, the remake of the '80s Patrick Swayze classic. Here he explains the advantages of having really rather long arms, who makes him crack up most on set - spoiler: it's Tom Holland - and how you manage to keep your cool when you're squaring up against Conor McGregor weilding a golf club.

I've not seen that many videos with Jake Gyllenhaal, but this is by far the calmest and most chill I've seen him πŸ˜…

It’s great to see Ali appreciated as a fantastic interviewer because he is, he really relaxes his guest and gets some surprising but always entertaining content. He asks intelligent questions and really tries to put people at ease. It’s always fun to watch his interviews.

Wow, I think this is the first time I've seen him this calm in an interview. In the past, he's always so animated and always shouting πŸ˜„

Jake more down to earth than i knew, you can tell hes very like self aware, he knows acting isnt like being a damn soldier, and he makes sure to mention that in some way in alot of the interviews, that his job isnt like "hard" and so on. respect that.
  • @PokhrajRoy.
Ali and Jake in a bar would be absolute chaos.

didn't think I'd see a Hot Ones shoutout here but I love it - would be awesome to see Ali take on the wings at some point

It seems like Mr. Gyllenhaal never ages. And what a career thus far.

The end credit scene was absolutely amazing! funny as hell!
  • @alifpr
I love how laidback he is on this interview, seems like a cool guy to be friends with.

I can't believe he mentioned Enemy. That's by far the best movie he has ever done. I am actually a big fan of this guy because of that one. Also, Nightcrawler is so so good, and Prisoners (of course). And yes, yes, Donnie Darko too, and Nocturnal Animals and Zodiac for sure... But Enemy... and the book is just phenomenal (Jose Saramago).
  • Finally we can see more Jake Gyllenhall. I’ve been checking YouTube for his videos everyday lol
  • @TimothyParker1
You are a fantastic interviewer! I've loved them all. So open and real.
  • Jake seems much more chill in this interview compared to how chaotic he can be a lot of the time. πŸ˜‚
  • @PokhrajRoy.
The way I would disintegrate if Jake Gyllenhaal told me I was great or was doing a great job.
  • this should be in cinemas because it will go unnoticed on the internet.
