Bridge view; Portsmouth arrival | Brittany Ferries Bretagne

Published 2022-04-30
It was a HUGE honour for A2B via Sea to be invited onto the Bridge of Brittany Ferries classic Cruise ferry Bretagne by the officers themselves, to film our arrival into Portsmouth International Port.

Having departed St Malo in France at 1030hrs that day, A2B via Sea / (Instagram: thebearded_blogger) had a wonderful time aboard sampling the excellent facilities aboard; restaurants, bars, lounges, shops, exterior decks....it was truly like a minicruise as we sailed past the islands of Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney and the northwest coast of France before crossing the English Channel passing the Isle of Wight on our port side and sailing up the Solent for our scheduled arrival of 1830hrs.

Ironically upon berthing we berth next to Brittany Ferries newest vessel Salamanca thereby the newest and oldest ships in the fleet next too each other.

Videos of the interior of Bretagne, a wonderful vessel, will be uploaded in due course. Please subscribe to this channel.

good video for your arrival to Portsmouth on the Bretagne 's bridge ...
  • Great Video thznkyou.i was on her last Thursday/ Friday for a round trip and have to say they have looked after her very well while laid up but their are a few xpots around outside decks that could do with some paint. Also what is french law for smoking in workplaces as when leaving Portsmouth you could see what looked like Captain and his bridge mate smoking while backing out of Portsmouth which did not look good in view of passengers.maybe why bridge door is open!!!!!

Great video, thank you! I’m interested to know, do the the cross-channel ferries need to have a Pilot to enter/exit the various ports or do the crews have with knowledge after working such familiar routes? Thanks

She may be the oldest girl in the fleet but IMHO the best - never had a bad crossing on her, always got there on time and safe. It'll be a sad day when they retire her in favour of these e-flexers

Good to see that Britain's two colossally expensive aircraft carriers are earning their keep tied up at Portsmouth; that'll scare the life out of Putin 😑
